enlarged abdomen (the baby)

My last hospital visit for monitoring was Monday, they seemed happy but referred me for another growth scan.
Growth scan was yesterday, the lady didn't talk much just said size seems fine, rather enlarged abdomen, around 6lb's and 'snuggled right down there isn't he' er yes...thats why im in alot of low down pain!
Then she just said ok ill print this out and give to your consultant can U go there now...i didn't kno I was meant to after scan so popped over told an hours wait so opted to go home and sit for phone call... 9pm phone call, 'Just to say scan looks fine, but any pains at all come straight in please' um..ok..but im in pain most hours I've said that before I get tightening nnlow dwn pain every hour! Im going to take it as if the pain gets worse go in I think!
Consultant again nxt week.
Wish they would tell me what they are thinking! Grrr

That doesn't sound helpfull at all! I would got with your own feelings, if it feels worse or different get straight back on the phone. I hope all goes ok for you though x

THey probably don't know what's wrong themselves that's why they are leaving you hanging like that. Go back if it gets worse. No point in suffering.

You're having such a tough time with this pregnancy hun.

My last scan I was told baby had a big abdomen, it worried me a bit until I mentioned it on here and it seems that loooads of women have LOs with this, and when I mentioned it to my MW last week she wasn't even phased by it, said it was normal and that baby just has a healthy appetite. The MW that did my GTT said enlarged abdomen is a sign of GTT but I don't believe her lol I'm sure if that were the case your consultant would've recommended GTT for you too. I only had mine because I have excess fluid and had glucose in my urine!

I think they're probably just being safe.

They have a set of guidelines to adhere to and if measurements differ they'll keep you under obsvervation x

Thanks ladies.
I've tried to chill n not think this weekend..work well till today when the pain has got so bad in bk im crying and tummy is like a rock which is very uncomfortable!! Seriously fed up now this is just not what I need.
