Who is everyone with?

We are with NPower and our monthly bill is just ridiculous. Nearly £100 p/mth for gas and electric. And the prices are going up again in October.

Thinking of changing, but not sure who to?

Eon maybe?

Was with British Gas years ago but they were really awful at the time.

We're with eon but haven't had a bill yet as we've only just moved in. Was with edf and only paid around £30-40 a month for each x.

we are with swalec for electric and pay 20 pound a month and for gas we are with british gas and pay about 25 pound a month for that.

We were with eon previously but were paying 50pound per month electric and still got lumbered with a 100pound bill when we switched, they were soooo expensive

You could try uSwitch.com, they're a comparison site that will show you the best rate for your area, they often let you apply for that rate online too

WOW how do you manage to keep it so low? we are on nearly £20 a week (more like 10days) with EDF for electric alone. xx

We pay £78 for electric and £44 for gas! With British gas in a three bed semi. Soooo expensive :(

I need to switch mine over. I'm not actually paying a huge amount but Im just on a bog standard tariff so I want to move it to monthly direct debit dual fuel to save some pennies. I just did a quick one on uswitch and it said it could get it for £35 a month but Id probably want to pay £40 or £45 so it covers the winter bills. I wont be putting the heating on until the very latest I can though. Paige better get her thermal undies out!

Prices are crazy, I haven't even had a bill for ages just a prediction for the next year and it's frickin scary lol

Gonna have a look at uswitch xxx

Well our heating and hot water is powered by our gas, electricity wise we never have switches on unless we are using something, we dont really need lights on while we still have these light nights, but we always sit in the dark in the evenings to watch tele, go on the laptop and stuff. we dont do it purposely to save electric but i guess no lights help save power lol

Could you imagine if we had a winter like the last one again as well :faint: We had 6 people in the house at one point and the gas and electric bills came to £600 for about 3 months worth over the christmas period with all the snow. Im just glad I won't have a newborn in the house. You have to keep it all so warm in the winter.

Were on gas & electricity meters and we put £20 a month on the gas (always have some left and over the last 6 months its built up so theres just over £40 in there so will help cover winter) and we put £35 a month in the electric. were with edf energy x

That's what happened to us, having Oscar in December meant having the heating on all the time, normally we'd have both been out all day at work and not have any heating or electric on etc, and with me being at home since looking after him we haven't had a chance to build up any credit this year. It's feckin scary!

But at least he will be 1 this winter so we won't need to maintain the temperature so much, just bundle him in jumpers lol

That's really good value Zoe. Energy companies can put you on a metre if you request can't they?

Might look into that too!

Just worried with winter coming that even though we haven't really used heating for months, except 1 radiator in the morning to dry towels off, we haven't really accrued any credit for the winter.

Don't know how they expect people to cope, they are having a laugh!

I'm with southern electric for both and pay £27 electric and £35 gas a month! Well until they go up next month, but am about £150 in credit over both!
XxX

We still use about £10 a wk on gas even in the summer on hot water etc, then last winter about £25 wk and that was being carful it was a nightmare.
We use about £40 a month on electric never really changes.

I do like metres and wouldn't really change as there's no bills but in the run up to Xmas last year when Money was tight you have to have the money there to keep putting on,

We pay £60 gas and £50 electric with bg in a 3 bed semi, im expecting the bills to rise this winter with having a new baby in the house and with me on mat leave then there is the price increase too :( x x
