Hi girls, I had a scan last week and had results back yesterday turns out I have endomentrial hyperplasia(thickening of the lining in the uterus) just wondered if any of you have this or know someone who has it, im not trying to concieve at the moment but in future would consider it, and I've looked up this condition online, and women who have this fond it difficult to concieve, I already have two beautiful kids with a previous partner but knowing its gonna be difficult to concieve breaks my heart, im only 22! I have a smear on Friday to check for anything serious and an appointment today due to bad pain in my back and lower abdomen x

Hi I had this. One doctor totally dismissed it and said that it 'shouldn't affect ttc', we'd already been trying for several months and I was a bit pissed off with her dismissive attitude. So I saw a second gyny, who was fab, said that hyperplasia is usually hormonal, caused by a lack of progesterone. She started me on progesterone and I got pregant the second month of taking it. X

Aw thankyou so much, its nice to hear that! Congratulations by the way :) :) x

Have the docs recommended any treatment? I would definitely get a second opinion if you're not happy. Good luck x

Have a smear Friday and another appointment next week that's about it but doctor said nothing about treatment, I think I might mention it at my appointment next week, did you have any signs or symptoms with hyperplasia? :) x

I had mid-cycle bleeding which is why I went to the docs in the first place. To be honest if I wasn't ttc I probably would have left it. I've always had very heavy, painful periods, I don't know if that has anything to do with the hyperplasia. x

Yeah, I usually always get bleeding in between my periods that's why I went to doctors, get painful pains as well, one time I went to hospital but went as soon as I got there so went back home, haven't had it since bit still get pain, never had my smear as im only 22, doctor rang me up day of the smear and told me I couldn't have it, was not happy! But have an appointment tomorrow for a review of my scan hoping now there do something! I've only been with my partner for a few months but he knows some day in future I'd want more kids, he said everything will be fine so im hoping he's right :)

Just been told I have this, wondering if you have any update of how your doing?
