i had 2 fone calls last week. both asked to speak to miss rachel smithson, so i said "yes, this is she" lol and they each said theyre calling from emma's diary. now i remember emma's diary as one of the many pregnancy clubs i joined when i was preggas- i wouldve thought them reputable- but each time they asked for my postcode "to confirm we're talking to the right lady" i thought mm eh? arent they s'pose'a confirm it to me? when i refused to give it they both hung up! is this a scam or what is it?

It could be right. As they have personal data about you, they have to act in accordance with the Data Protection Act so they need to be careful that they are talking to the right person.

I always say that if you are in doubt that you ask for a number to call them back on. At least then you can Google it as most of them come up in Google or take the number then ask for them to call back in an hour or so.

They rang me last week too and got quite shirty when I said I wasnt comfortable giving out my personal info...they said well we already have it we just need to confirm we have the right details??????? Anyway I told them the very first bit and had them tell me the rest lol
Anyway they were only trying to get me to give permission to pass on my details to some phone company I forget which one, I expect thats what your calls were about too, very annoying and time wasting, you were lucky they werent as persistent with you!
