Ellies's got a slight cramping

Hi all.

Heres whats been happening.
few nights ago we was sitting in bed watching a film and then ellie said she could feel a cramping pain in belly. kept coming and going.
I got my stop watch out and timed it over and over for about an hour and not once what it nearly in time. seemed completely random. after about an hour and half it went away. she said it felt like the top and sides of her uterus was getting tight and from doing my research over the last 8 months im told that thats how labour will start, from top and sides to push the baby down. but as i said it totally went away. this morning she has woke up with a pain again. she says this time its like a constant period pain but dull. hasnt gone away all day, no worse no better, but she still able to move around and still doing all normal stuff during the day. she wont let me ring anyone to check stuff out cos she says she feels fine.
Aint got a clue what this could be. sounds like the other night was just braxton hicks but now today i dont know.

anyone experienced this before. she is getting massive and from the way the MW talking she will give birth early which she's pissed about cos she dont go on maternity till next saturday and she be 33 weeks then. told her to come off work weeks ago but ellie being ellie wouldnt listen. stubborn cow. lol

anyone have any clue as to what could be happening.

Yeah I was thinking the other night it sounded like braxton hicks, not sure about the constant, dull pain though. I had constant, dull, period like cramps over a week ago, not sure what it was but it went away. I did call mw because I thought I had leaked some fluid the night before so I went up to the hospital and was checked and all was fine

I take it she isn't leaking any fluid or any bloody discharge? I'm no expert Mike, so if you are both concerned call the hospital or midwife. Hope all is ok.

Hi mike, I've had lots of episodes of constant period type cramps and when I mention it to the mw they never seem concerned. She said it's just the body getting ready for the birth - stretching etc which makes sense when you think about it. I've had a sweep today and that's what I've felt all day. I don't think it's anything to worry about just the body getting ready.

i think it could be braxton hicks? i was in early labour for 5 days before i had my baby lol and my contractions were 7 mins apart lasting 40 seconds for 4 whole days; then on the 5th day woke up and they were 1 min apart lasting 1 min it was crazy!! x

Thats what i thought. just body getting ready.
And yes she has had leaking over past week. saw midwife few days back and she dont rekon ists anything to worry about. its stopped now though anyway.

Is she drinking plenty? I used to get contractions if I hadn't drunk enough,used to have a pint of water then lay on my left side for half an hour and it use to ease them xxx

Just thought I'd echo what's been said I got terrible cramps if I didn't drink enough fluids . It made the BH's intensify .
