I'm curious. I was watching an old interview on daybreak with annabel Karmel V a BLW feeder and AK goes on about how horrible and tasteless savoury jars are (not the sweet ones) and how babies never like them that much.

I understand she's obviously trying to sell HER book with HER recipes but I'm curious as you all rave about Ella's kitchen.

Do they taste better than the jars? Have you guys tasted one verses a jar?

Lol I wanna try one! Didn't lady gaga go on a baby food diet?

Yes much better! Baby jars IMO are vile!!! Lol Stanley always turns his nose up lol

I only really used the Ella's kitchen 7 month pouches as a kind of transition from purée to lumpy and they do them course but not lumpy xxx

I'd rather eat puke than baby food!

I can't really tell, as Vince is a little fat ogre and will eat anything. I *think* he may enjoy sweeter purees more, but that's just a guess.

The baby jars all taste the same but with Ella's kitchen they actually have flavour xxx

the hipp organic jars are quite nice imo.. and lo loved ellas pouches!

i'd give my lo the sweet ones as life if just too short to make desserts all the time but the savoury ones are just boke, also they taste strangely metallic?

I've found the jarred foods leave a nasty stain in the bowl afterwards thats a pain to get rid of, it put me off them a lot. This doesn't happen with the ellas kitchen ones and they smell and taste far better!

My lo only takes PLUM minted peas and lamb, rest of the savoury ones he doesnt like

Yes Ella's kitchen and plum are fab!!!! Jars are pish!!!! We are eating my foods mixed with milk and he luuuuurves it

I was told by my HV not to use any jars or packaged meals, which came as a suprise coz I fed my eldest LO 1 meal each day of jars - so I decided just to go totally healthy & organic & make everything from scratch, its not as hard as you think.

xxxxxx

I made everything from scratch too. It was much cheaper and I'm very tight lol x

My lo loved the Ellas kitchen pouches when we used them on holiday BUT if you ever make your own, there is a massive difference. They look, smell and taste hideous!! It was a struggle to feed them to Jax on holiday tbh as some of them looked and smelt like puke!! LOL. The only one which I thought smelt ok was the vegetable bake with lentils.

Tbh, as a couple of the other posters have said making your own food is so much easier than you may expect. I just cook about 4/5 meals at one time which takes about an hour but once they are frozen and bagged up, they last absolutely ages - about 4 weeks with jax eating them for both lunch and dinner.

The difference between the two really is HUGE.

I make all my own but I have the pouches for going out and if I have orgotten to defrost!! Harrison loves them all but he loves anything edible! If he cud digest his toys he wud probably eat them too!! Lol!!

LOL, Jax too!! He is a joy to feed as he will just eat ANYTHING, hot or cold, it's brilliant.

Yeah he loves his food only problem is that he is a nightmare to give his milk now as I think he wud rather the food!! Hope this is a sign of things to come!! Mind you I love food and cooking so maybe this is rubbing off on him?? He also eats really quickly with no messing about!! Poor DH was looking forward to doing the airoplane thing but he just wants to eat!!

Jax doesn't have much interest in milk anymore either. We are now down to 3 x 5ox bottles a day.

Need to find out how much he needs at the moment coz he is quite young to be weaned!! THe bottles what arent with his meals are ok but the ones at breakfast and lunch are a nightmare!! Lol!!
