Why do a lot of sellers wait for you to leave your feedback as a buyer? You've paid, done your end of the deal so they should leave feedback first surely

I think they do it to almost hold you to ransom.....that way if you leave a negative for them - they can match it and leave a negative for you!

Thats how ive felt sometimes then end up not leaving any at all as ebay are crap at removing retalitory negatives

I think you shouldnt be able to see each others feedback until you have both submitted it.

God its sooooo frustrating isn't it!!
I hate it when that happens as i always pay via paypal and instantly so why on earth i should get bad feedback i never know,
I had my perfect feedback wrecked by a buyer who messed me about for 3 months before not paying so i reported them to ebay who said because it was over 6 weeks couldnt help me, so i left bad feedback and they left disgusting feedback for me

I had that happen to me once, I bought 14 separate small items from a woman in USA. They never arrived and after several emails and several weeks had passed I left her negative feedback.

The very next day she left me 14 separate bits of negative feedback!

I will never know for sure whether she posted the items or not, but I never got the items, or a refund.

OMG that's awful!!!

That's the one thing that really annoys me about ebay, if I sell something I will leave feedback as soon as the person has paid, as far as I'm concerned they have done their part. They shouldn't have to wait for me. I wish other people would do that too.

as a seller i always leave feedback first, then i know my job is done,

if for any reason they leave me bad feedback i just reply to that..

have been lucky so far though and only had 1 nasty comment in 11 months of being a seller..

That really annoys me too. What gets me as well is if the thing you've ordered isn't up to scratch or goes wrong somehow and you leave neg or neutral feedback they give you the same, and then I'm like 'Wait a minute. I paid straight away and kept my end of the bargain so why the neg/neutral feedback for me?!'

I might start putting something about that on the note to seller when I pay via paypal. You have done your side of the deal with no problems coz you use paypal so you should get feedback.
Ive even had one seller asking me to leave it as she needed to close the sale, errr try leaving mine first!
