Hi all,

I came off the pill in December after being on it for lord know how many years. It took a couple of months for my body to adjust and my “natural” flow started occurring in March. The first couple of months seemed fairly regular but last month I had spotting at 8 dpo which turned out to be AF making an early appearance. This month I’m getting spotting at 7 dpo 😫 I only started temping properly this month but the chart did seem to pinpoint when I O’d. I didn’t get a positive OPK but the negative tests I marked on the chart show where I got very faint red lines (I had also been testing a couple of days before and after and had been getting no red line at all)
Is it possible I managed to miss O, despite what the chart shows? Has anyone else been having problems with early AF that can offer some advice? It’s so frustrating!! X

If I were you I'd have my Progesterone levels tested.

Your chart is indicating O at CD18 based on FAM rules - ie. three higher temps indicating a clear thermal shift. Yes, your LH levels might have been too low, you might have used diluted urine (some OPK tests are very sensitive and require you to test with FMU, others require you to test only after 10am etc.) - there are a number of reasons why your OPK could not have picked up the LH surge.

What was your CM like on CD16-18?
If you are comfortable with the idea, I would suggest charting CP next cycle as this will help to more accurately pin point O or at the very least, assist with confirming it when used alongside BBT and CM.

Based on your temps I don't doubt that you did O - the thermal shift is prominent. My best UNeducated guess is that you have a Progesterone deficiency which is shortening your LP. This can easily be corrected.

Thanks so much for your reply and advice
I had been attempting to log CM but some days there didn’t seem to be enough to tell and other days I just totally forgot (I’m new to charting and it’s hard to remember everything some days!!)

I wasn’t sure whether I should look at getting myself down the Medical Centre just yet but i shall give them a call today x

Update: My Doctor Surgery can’t fit me in until 19th July! What a joke!! Guess I’ve just got to be patient for the time being then...

The most important part is that you ovulated :hugs: my doctor told me that everything else is a quick adjustment as long as Ovulation takes place (that's the most important part). I know how it made me feel when I first charted, having to learn how CM works and cervical position (took me a while to figure it out - and even today I'm not always sure) - soon you can put all of this behind you when you get that :bfp:

Until then here's a boat load of :dust: from me to you! :hugs:

Right back at ya, KatD :)

Being a total TTC forum virgin, I was in two minds whether or not to post anything but you have been a big help and have no doubt saved me from weeks of symptom spotting and worrying that something was wrong! X
