Hi ladies, I'm new to this forum and my husband and I have just started ttc.
Just a little background info.
I'm 28 my husband is 33 and I came off Microgynon at the end of June this year after being on it for about 10 years.
I had a normal breakthrough bleed after stopping and then had my normal period on July 27th (my birthday non the less!!).
I had my ovulation on Wednesday last week but recently had been having a few weird things happen.

About 5 days ago I had some mild period like cramps on and off for a couple of days, and was suffering with really bad bloating. Then 2 days ago I ate some chocolate cake my mum made and it tasted of soap! :-s
Been suffering with constipation too, which isn't normal for me and I'm also feeling more drained and tired than usual.

I'm not expecting to be pregnant already but these symptoms seems to be quite common as early symptoms and just wanted to get your opinions on it all.

My husband also noted that I smelled different the other day, like he said I smelt pregnant and it wasn't a smell he's ever smelt on me before, which is weird.
.
I'm due to start this month's period on Thursday this week, I don't want to get my hopes up but I've read similar and it seems fairly likely.

What do you ladies reckon??

Any advice always welcome :-)

Hi and welcome to the forum,

I would say that all your symptoms sound promising but as I noticed when i started ttc that my body would often trick me into believing i was pregnant when i wasn't.

The only way to know for sure is to test!! I would try to hold off if there is still a while until af is due, but use a first response test when you do test as they are best at detecting early on.

Good luck!!

Hi Phillipa, welcome to our forum!! So happy you've began your TTC journey with us

Microgynon... Remind me, is that a progesterone only pill or a combined pill progesterone and estrogen? I was on Micronor for a couple of years before I stopped taking it as OH and I began TTC. I stopped my pill on March 20th and conceived our wonderful little boy on April 19th - so I was off the pill for 1 day less than a month! I'm not sure whether this is factual, but a lot of people say if you were on a progesterone only pill, your fertility can increase upon stopping that pill, thus causing you to fall pregnant almost immediately - but don't quote me on that - I don't know whether that is factual and also all women are of course different!

You very well could be pregnant or the symptoms you are experiencing could simply be withdrawal symptoms from your birth control pill - it's very hard to tell as the symptoms are all so similar. The only thing you can do is keep your fingers crossed and wait until your AF is due. The best time to test is on the day AF is due - sometimes you can get a positive test before your AF is due, but they say it is safest to wait to see if AF arrives or not. Don't test with blue dyes if you can - they run more of a chance of showing an evaporation line - always use the pink dyes where possible.

FX you get the outcome you are wanting - sending lots of baby dust your way :dust: x

Microgynon was the combined pill.

Update:
Just snuggled up in bed and I have sudden stomach cramps (actual stomach) and sudden nausea and also just noticed I feel like I'm having a bit of a hot flush, so in bed with a sick bucket and fan on me just in case!
The only time I suffer like this is when my Gastritis flares up and that's usually caused by stressed, which I'm not currently.
I also feel a bit shaky and lightheaded even though I had a decent dinner and lunch.

What is going on lol, I feel naff!
