Hi all,

A lot of you have been talking about having scans before 12 weeks. How do you get them?!

I'm 8 weeks with my first, and I'm desperate to know that everything is ok, seeing as it's taken nearly two years to get to this stage. I'm a little concerned as for a while I was feeling absolutely terrible, but for the past two days I've been ok apart from a cold, so I'm worried things might not be ok.

Help!!

Unless u go private I don't think an early scan is offered unless history of mc or ectopic or unless there's a problem, bleeding etc.

I'm nearly 8 weeks and have been thinking the same as u,that I suddenly feel fine,no sickness etc but I am shockingly tired, but that's fairly normal 4 me,suffer wiv lazyitus lol xx

im feeling exactly the same as you ladies. im feeling not 100% but cant stop feeling paranoid. just trying to relax i think is the best way as stress isnt good but just need reassurance that all is ok. im still trying to get my head round fact and pregnant (dontget me wrong im very very happy and was trying!) but just cantwait till the 12 week scan xx

Ive already had 3 healthy pregnancies and cant hep thinking that im tempting fate a little bit. i keep buying cheap hpt just to make sure and luckily still getting two v dark lines :) xx

Girls I was the same as you lot waiting for my 12 week scan and all I can say is try not to worry and just relax and enjoy it. I suffered terrible morning sickness up until about 7-8weeks and then it just stopped... it comes back with a vengeance for most people though so definately enjoy not having that for a few weeks!! xx

Thanks guys, you've really reassured me! I shall just enjoy!!

I think the more you worry about it the longer it seems to take for the big day to come round!
I worried a lot and spent most of the time on the phone to the midwife and every little niggle, ache or pain I had she reassured me they were all natural, the body does a lot of stretching and it does get uncomfortable but its all just signs of the baby growing :)
Oh and period like cramps are still around unfortunately :( dont worry about those either!
Next few weeks will fly by if you just keep busy and happy, soon youll be posting your scan pics on here!!xx

Only natural for you to worry girls,, and remember that most people will be fine, just when you get loads of ladies together like on here PF, that a certain percentage will have problems, and so have to have the extra scans and your seeing these posts too. Try and keep busy doing other things, or the time will slow doen as Lily Mac says.

And if your 8 weeks, I think that's when most people have a wobble as there are halfway from 4 weeks to 12 weeks, so you can see the finsh line , if you know what I mean ...

Enjoy it, it goes so fast, and very soon it won't just be your and OH's little secret X

I had an early private scan at 7+4 in Kent for £50 and it totally set my mind at ease- I could enjoy the pregnancy after that reassurance.
