Hi guys :)

I'm going for an early scan next week which will make me 6 weeks and 1 day .. I've never had an early one so unsure what to expect :/
Has anyone had an early scan ? When did you see the heartbeat ?
I'm trying not to worry myself to much about if I don't see a heart beat but I'm excited too think I might .. I'm certain I conceived between the 20-23 of June so by the time of my scan the baby is 27 days since conception :)

Any advice or experiences would be amazing ♥️

Also the only reason I cover all conception dates is because I only go on my side pains I didn't temp or use opk so just covering all grounds

There's so much information online about what can be seen and when, with statistics and images that may help put your mind at rest, as it did with me.

Towards the end of this article has some dates that might help http://www.advancedwomensimaging.com.au/first-trimester-dating-ultrasound

Although you may be certain of when you conceived, you may not have implanted until a few days after what you expect, or you may have ovulated a little later. This can affect what is seen on the sonogram as you may be a day or two behind what your period states.

I wish I had saved all the links I looked at during the first tri, but I haven't. But honestly, if you google to look at scientific articles rather than other people's bad experiences (so many google results on anything convince people of the bad!) it'll help put your mind at rest that it's too early!

I saw on your previous post you now have a scan booked for what you believe is 6+1. I had an early scan that dated me at 6+1 and we saw the fetal pole and heartbeat on that scan with no trouble. But like I said, be prepared that the scan may actually date you a few days ahead or a few days behind even if you are CERTAIN of period/ovulation/conception dates, as that's just how it is. All my scans put me a whole 7 days ahead of what my LMP says, despite that I KNOW when my period was for certain.
The body is a weird place, mannn

What day is your scan? I'm having early scan next week too. Mine is on Thursday :)

i had a early scan at 6 weeks and saw just the sac and yolk.
went back at 8 weeks and saw baby and heartbeat. Now i'm 12 weeks 4 days with a healthy baby :)

I'm surprised the gp has arranged your scan at a time that can't be sure to give you reassurance. Especially when that the only reason for the scan from your other post? You haven't been bleeding etc have you? Sorry, and this is not a dig at you but as a senior manager in a large NHS trust this type of thing upsets me when finances are so tight as it is a potential waste of a scan. If you dont see what you're expecting for no other reason than it being too early it will cause you stress and they will probably rearrange another scan. Should the gp have arranged it for a week later this probably wouldn't have happened.

I hope you are able to see the heartbeat and get the reassurance you need. Though if not, it's more than likely just to be too early.

A little update so went into EPU and had my scan ... seen little bean and is heart beat which was amazing ♥️ And they printed out two pictures for us to keep ♥️

I'd like to clear something up, I too am very very aware of he strain on the NHS ! I have worked very closely with people in this sector and come from a long line of nurses and doctors and know more than most the struggles they're facing on a daily basis.
I didn't do anything wrong and what you don't understand clearly is my pregnancy was put on high risk because of my past ..

When I went into the scan all the women my gp included were phenomenal, they all treated me as though I wasn't silly and understood my concerns .. they were vey understanding and when I said I might be just being silly hey repeated it's their jobs to make sure everything's ok and not to overlook anything.
I was never treated as though it was too soon or I was silly or an inconvenience and in fact it went very well but I do understand I'm very lucky indeed to of had my outcome ..

All in all I seen my gorgeous bean and this tiny little flicker which looked like a glistening of a ring which was indeed its little heart beat ♥️ Amazing experience
