Early Days!

Hello all those Mum's to be out there!

Well at the ripe old age of 37 and after a year of trying (on & off - I travel abroad for weeks at a time with my job so some months we couldn't try!) I finally fell and am now all of 5 weeks pregnant! I tested with Clearblue digi Sun 7th Dec so the news is just now starting to sink in

Shock, terror, excitement, blissful happiness plus worry all in one is how I'm feeling!! My due date is around August 16th and it feels a lifetime away as does the 12wk milestone & scan!!

My big worry at the moment (I'm a natural born worrier) is that whilst I've read that pains not disimilar to mild crampy period pains are usual for the first few weeks (whilst the little bean travels along the fallopian & embeds itself into the wall of the uterus) when do these pains disappear? Mine are fairly constant and worrying me like crazy!

Any reassurance most gratefully received to save me nagging my GP for an early midwife appoint!!

Hi There!

At the ripe old age of 41 ! I have just found out that am expecting!

we tested with clearblue too after using two boots make ones and thinking that my Husband and I where going mad, looking at it to see if it was a + or not all be it a very faint one on both tests!

Any way try not to worry to much about the cramp like period pains am told this is normal!
I was feeling like that last week the odd one or two this week but not uncomfortable.

Am only 3weeks according to the test due to visit GP monday!

Try not to worry to much us women always worrying - remember this is a big change to your body one that needs to get prepared. ( listen to me sound good don't I! lol )

Yes - I think the worry comes with age. 10yrs ago all I used to worry about was NOT getting pregnant

As we're quite near each other in terms of "how far gone" I'm sure our paths will cross on these boards many more times over the coming months!

welcome and congrats! i think i had those periody pains all thru first tri, so another 7 weeks of suffering, i'm afraid! and soon u will also get nausea and sore boobs! fun fun fun!
