Hi Iv breastfed for 6 weeks and I am now trying to dry up my milk and have been giving my baby formula for the last 2 days throughout the day and night I last breastfed at 3am Monday morning and that was only off my right breast my left one never seemed to get that full so doesn't seem that bad however the right breast is really full and quite sore Iv been taking paracetamol and ibuprofen I also had a hot bath last night just to relieve myself a bit as was quite lumpy and sore and then input a bag of cold peas on it lol Iv tightened my bra to give good support, any other tips? Can't wait for this to be over!! Xx

Your doing everything i did. The first two days were the worst the most excruciating pain ever !!! Hopefully you are feeling a bit better. Took about a week or two to completely dry up.

Peppermint tea helps dry up milk and also Sudafed tablets (or any cold & flu med with a decongestant in) xx

I was told not to have hot baths and to make showers quick, as the warmth encourages let down of milk - which in turn produces more milk!

If doesn't take that long before your body gets the idea, it is painful for a few days, I even used to get shivers and feel fevered while it was going too.

Honestly, take sudafed! I did, all milk gone in 2 days! Better In 24 hours! It's known to dry up milk, have to avoid decongestants when breast feeding xxx
