Hi All,

Timothy has got VERY dry skin on the back of his hands at the moment, and it looks as though little bits are sort of peeling. We use Olive oil on the rest of him, and we can't think what would be safe to use on his hands to stop it.

Has anyone else had this problem with their LO?

Thanks

Liz

Jake got this for a few weeks after he was born, he got it on his feet too. Its just the skin drying out after having been in water in the womb for so long. My health visitor advised me not to use anything on it as his was so mild, just to let him shed the skin naturally :)

I would imagine that olive oil would be ok to use on his hands too. If you are worried about Timothy eating his hands then put some scratch mits on him. You could also try vaseline or a baby moisturiser.

My LO had peeling dry skin not long after birth, it's just the top layer that will shed in time. Nothing to worry about, and not necessary to use anything.
