What age did you LO's drop their last breastfeeds? Did they do it on their own or did you need to encourage them? I am getting lots of hassle from relatives for BF past Ellies first birthday now. I would really just love to say "b**ger off".

If you are not BF at what age did stop giving bottles completely?

Thanks.

hun i cant help you im sorry as we have a long way to go yet :D but at the end of the day its your choice tell everyone where to go and stop when you and ellie are ready to stop tell them all to mind their own business  xxxxx

Tell them that it is none of their business............ I would love to be able to still be feeding Grace after her first birthday :)

You should be very proud of yourself and your baby girl

Here is a great list of reasons to carry on breastfeeding
http://www.parentingweb.com/lounge/newm ... oddler.htm

I am still feeding Seren and she is 20 months at the end of this month. I am proud I still do this, and really feel I have given her so many benefits (and me too, extended nursing has a lot of health benefits for mum)

For some reason our society gets really icky about feeidng an older child, I rarely feed in public anymore but when I have I have recievd some odd looks, one woman actually tutted at me. However if they can't get past their ssues of a child using breasts to feed from thats their problem, their narrow mindedness only makes me more determined.

However if you feel that now is the right time to stop I would recommend doing it gradually. kellymom.com have some great tips http://www.kellymom.com/bf/weaning/wean ... iques.html

most of all feel proud of yourself, only 25% of moms are still breastfeeding at 6 months so you have done well.

Thanks for the links. Very helpful. At what age do people stop giving their LO's a bottle before bed?

Last night was fantastic Ellie slept through completely and woke at 7:15am when I gave her her breakfast (weetabix and a glass of cows milk) she then refused the breast I offered her afterwards.
