Apart from milk what else does your LOs drink throughout the day and how often??

Ella is 5 months old and I desperately try to get her to drink some water every day but even getting an ounce in to her is hard work she's just not interested!

Kynon has a tippy cup of water with his dinner but spends more time banging it than drinking! Its good practice for them as long as they are getting milk i wouldn't worry x

Do they need to drink a certain amount of water? I always thought they did for some reason! X

You don't need to give them water at least until they are 6 months. You can do but you don't need to xx

My son never took to water i also gave him dilute juice very weak of course x i used to offer it to him after his meals instead of milk and weaned him that way x

32 weeks pregnant. Team yellow!

Do you bf or ff? If you're bf you don't need to give any water at all. Sorry, I don't know what the answer is if you ff - my oldest daughter was ff, but that was such a long time ago, I can't remember how much water she had.

I've just started trying to get Rhea to drink some baby fruit juice most I have got down her is an oz but that's more than water she won't drink that !! Will gradually weaken it down so it's just flavoured water xxx

Thanks miss crazy will give it ago !! Will try squash when she is bit older !! Cheaper ! Lol xxx

I was reading a wee booklet thing yesterday about baby drinks, an NHS thing the HV gave me, it says that from 6 months you should give LO's a beaker with water to get them used to drinking water at meal times. You shouldn't give flavoured water or water with diluting juice or anything. You can give diluted fresh fruit juice (not sure which kind) and thats it, apart from formula. Til they get to a year then I think they can get normal cows milk (not sure) and maybe a bit of juice.

I tried the water thing and some children don't like just plain water and the way i see it is if they take juice or favoured water that's better than nothing at all x

My HV said unless she's dehydrated water isn't necessary. But like the other said I give her about an oz or two in her beaker when its meal time but she spits most of it or just plays with the beaker. Bought a couple of the baby juices but she won't take to it at all bless her x
