Is anyone using Dr Brown bottles??

I got 2 for Alastair and im not happy with them, i dont think he has got any better and now im not sure what to do :wall:

He doesnt seem to feed from them very well

Does anyone else use these bottles???

i spent £30 getting all these when i was pregnant ready for baby, bought the proper dr browns bottle brush too & was really excited about using them.
had to by a special sterilser to fit them in cause they are so big, other wise i could have used my avent one from my son.

luckily i bought some 5 oz mothercare bottles just in case, coz the dr browns were terrible, leaked & when i put a bottle in a jug of water to heat it, the water turned to milk!!!
awful awful crap bottles, i was gutted, luckily one box was unopened, so i will re sell them on ebay.

had to go to mothercare & by more of their bottles which are fab.
xx

well I'm using dr brown bottles for owen as he had bad colic winding problems and i find these have worked fantastic for me! :cheer:

Owen is soo much happier on them, I agree with the heating in a jug of hot water they do leak, but I take top off and all is fine!

I use a normal lindam bottle steriliser and they fit all 6 in one go, I've got no fault with them really!

Sorry

I used the Lindam ones when my eldest was a baby, they were the same design and i found she never had wind at all. They were very hard to clean and sterilize, i could only fit 4 in at once. I used to make up the milk in normal bottles and pour it in when i needed it cos you couldn't shake them propally and when the milk was warm it used to shoot up the tube. A lot of hassle but i found they did what they said.

I never had any problems with them, used them for months, they were my saviour!
What's up with them? The leaking?? You can't shake them when hot!!

no not just shaking them, its when you put them in a jug to heat, the milk spills out the sides (not every time) & turns the water to milk!!!

they are quite big too, look too big for a newborn, although i could have bought the 4 oz one i suppose, after trying the 9 oz i didn't bother,

wish i had got on with them though. :(

You have to take the top off and filter put to heat them (says in instructions).

I found the teat great for Damien was tiny, reallly easy to suck. He started off with only 3oz in them too (I got the 9oz ones).

I dont know what to do Alastiar is on colief drops and dr brown bottles and he is still crying and being sick???????

Hi hun.... i also hated dr browns when i first got them but i learnt how to use them now and they are fine.... when heating in a jug of water i just unscrew the top slightly and they dont leak. Also dont shake them when they have boiling water in, let them cool first.

but Ellis has always been a windy baby, so i dont know if they helped. If i never used them he might of had colic?!! you never really know.

Keely xxxx
