Hey All,

I just wondered if you could offer any advice as I am thinking of getting a doppler to put my mind at rest - I've been feeling a bit down lately - I just wondered what everyone thought.....should I buy or rent? Which kind/ make is the best or recommended?

Can you offer any help?

Em

I think you can get a fetal sound monitor (i think theyre called)

renting one is too expensive so u might as well buy something for say 40quid that u can use again...

I'm happy I didnt buy one because the time goes so fast....

Got one on ebay for around £30 with postage..I love mine
OH went mad at first, he knows how worried I get over th tiniest things, but I must admit, I found it reassuring to hear the heartbeat...
I no longer use it daily as I feel the baby move more, but its lovely for OH to hear bubba as he still cant feel the kicks and is crestfallen!!!
xx

well wroth every penny, i paid about £30 off ebay for the

"angelsounds fetal heart monitor"

its a pink one...

absoltuly fantastic, when im feeling down or slightly concerned hearingthe heartbeat is sooo reassuring!!

Thats the one I got Loz, just checked it!!!

Its great, highly recommendedxx

I love my doppler.
We hired ours. I'm going to return it at the end of this month now I can feel the baby moving.
It's well worth it though.

Brilliant! Thanks so much for your advice....think I will be buying one the same as you girlies if thats whats recommended, think I jut need reassurance every now & then......I'm not a big worrier usually but all my 'symptoms' have gone (apart from really itchy boobs!) and I can't feel baby yet....so hearing JJ is the next best thing :cheer:

argos do one for £30 I am thinking about getting on too..................

Emmylou - make sure you are getting a proper hospital grade doppler though because some of the cheaper ones won't let you hear the baby's heart until you are 20 weeks plus.
Best to check first before you buy!
Lucyx

hey lucy, that is the case with most of the dopplers, but with the angelsounds when positioned correctly can be heard from 12 weeks, altho i only got mine at 15 weeks! so i cant comment...

I got that one, and i still struggle now to hear the heart beat. YOu can hear babies kicks and if it has hickups, but i find it hard to find the heart beat (i was a size 18 before bump though, so it has got more to go through!).

I wish i had got a better one.

Hi everyone, just came over from first trimester to be nosey

I saw these in Argos the other day and Im going to get one when Im further on. Only thing is, if one day the baby was lying a certain way which stopped me hearing a strong heartbeat I think Id start getting a bit worried and paranoid lol!

Hey All,

Well I haven't bought on yet just came on to check posts before I hit ebay, think I'll get the angelsounds one Lozzi, and will have to bear in mind that I may not always be able to find baby myself as I'm not a trained professional, hopefully if i keep that in mind I may not work myself up????

I'll give you all an update when it arrives.....fingers crossed I can even work out how to use it in the first place?!

make sure u turn it up to full blast at this stage.. postition it really low on ur tum with a conductive gel, i have even used baby oil for it....

if u need any help when u get it just msg me :)

Thanks lozzi....I have just bought it and its up for next day delivery - so hopefully tomorrow night we'll give it a whirl.

May PM you if I struggle - thanks for the offer x

ive got the pink one too, whens the earliest u guys heard it?

i got mine at 15 weeks, took a few minutes to find the heartbeat... just be patient, but on the box it says 12 week onwards..

Yeah, mine says 12 weeks on it
But was wondering if it was poss to hear it earlier as some dopplers say 8-10 weeks, but i wasnt prepared to pay over £100 for that one!!

Thanks Lozzi. Think I'll return the rental doppler now and get the Angel Sounds one too. L x
