Breast feeding just isn't happening. My daughter is a little bit prem, so they have said some difficulties with feeding are not uncommon. However my milk supply isn't great and they have suggested domperidone as a stimulant. Has anyone ever taken it and was it successful?

Hi there

I haven't taken it myself but a lady who goes to the local breastfeeding group took it when her little one was 3 wks old after she got mastitis and it really affected her supply, she had great results and said she felt that her milk supply had increased a great deal after taking it.

Are you solely breastfeeding at the moment?

Hi again

Sorry I just read your thread about your baby being a bit prem and that she's still in hospital. Lots of skin to skin contact is also recommended for boosting your milk supply.

All the best

Lucy

ive never heard of it but id like to wish you all the luck breastfeeding.

I've heard of it and it's great that they've offered it, most health authorities wont and make you pay for it which is really expensive (I was talking to a lady a few months back who was paying approx £10 for 40 tablets and having to take 10 a day....)

It basically just makes you lactate so will immediately boost your supply.

Good luck with it

Damien is on Domperidone for reflux. He has been since he was 5 weeks old.
Sorry your struggling to breastfeed, Damien wouldn't suckle either so I ended up expressing for him and them moved into formula when he was about 3-4 weeks old because of his reflux.
