really affect your chances of having a baby and could have a negative affect on the baby?

Some people agree and disagree with this statement.

no idea. But i think anything that you put into your body thts not natural will affect your bodys function in some way.

If you're unsure if it will affect the baby and its not a matter of life and deat h for you then don't take it.
Thats my moto.
Just a slight doubt is enough to put me off.

why do you ask?

I was smoking when i caught for all 3 of mine, but i gave up within the first 8 weeks of pregnancy, so i don't think it really affects you catching. However, all the people i know who have smoked through pregnancy have either had small babies or babies that have bad tempers when born. If you have quit smoking in the past, you will know that its stressfull and your irritable when you give up, so this has the same effect on the baby, its born craving nicotine.
Hope this helps! :)

Smoking can effect fertility in both men and women, so yes it can make it harder to catch, and smoking while pregnant is dangerous as it can cause miscarriage, low birth weights, asthma and some people think it increases the chances of cot death, as well as lots of other possible dangers.

I know all this because, unfortunately, both myself and OH are struggling with quitting - its not easy, its friggin hard, but reading up on the facts can give you more motivation to quit.

Theres lots of info here, hope it helps

i was smoking when i fell pregnant with all mine but gave up, when i found out

If your trying I would say try quit anyways surely you would when falling oregnant as not o harm your baby so why not do it now? I do sympathise it is hard i quit myself but now would be a better time than just waiting untill you fall pregnant

As soon as I found out I was pregnanat I gave up, knowing I was pregnant gave me enough motivation to quit.

Smoking is bad for you and will not be good for your baby, theres no if's 's or but's about it. :)
