Does it get easier???!

I am so close to giving up!!!!! Im knackered and glued to my LO he's 2 and half weeks old bf was going well but now it's just become difficult he only feeds 10 mins a time and I think he's getting too much foremilk his poop is a bit green sometimes. I am so tired!!!!

Hugs. It does get easier Hun at around 6 weeks things will seem a lot brighter. LO is currently building your supply so will feed little and often, plus there bellies are so small.

It's also comforting being snuggled next to you.

Is LO battling with wind? That can also be the cause for green poops. How is LO's weight gain? Xx

It does get easier. Bethan was an extremely hungry baby in the early days.

Is there any way you could express some milk so your OH could do the first feed of the day so you could lie in bed a bit longer or the last one at night?

Try and persevere for a little bit longer. However don't beat yourself up if you want to stop. But if you can get to 6 weeks then you should find things a lot easier x

It really does get easier! I don't know how often you are feeding but we found a dummy essential by 4 weeks as Ollie is such a sucky baby. I found I had to force him into a 3h cycle by not giving in and feeding him too often cos he was snacking and napping in the breast. It only too one 3 h stint and ban he did the rest himself, evenings its every 2 h which is fine, the rest of the time I can set my watch by him. The pain and discomfort really eases too and I hAte that they are right, by 6 weeks it really is feeling more manageable, even though I do all the night feeds too xxx

It DOES get easier lovey. If you can, try and stick with it as once you have climbed the mountain you will love it I'm sure. It is so lovely and so easy and convenient. xx

Have you tried feeding from the same side as the previous feed? This can help them get more hindmilk. Or try reoffering same breast after a 10 min break.

My BFing counsellor said that as long as there are mostly yellowy dirty nappies then all is well. C poops 3 times a day once in a while his morning poop is greeny which I have put down to the fact that at night he doesn't have a proper feed because he is tired.

There may be a slight imbalance but at 2weeks old I would look at weight gain, if its OK and LO is acting fine then I wouldn't worry too much Xx

Keep going lovely as it does get easier. Like the other ladies have said LO is trying to build up your supply to meet his needs. My LO has the odd green pooy nappy sometimes but I put that down to wind mainly. If LO is putting on the weight that is the important thing x

Im so happy and proud my LO just did a big yellow seedy poo... Not even a hint of green yaay! I'm just going to be patient with breastfeeding I'm happy about it today because of his poo I hope it lasts. Still trouble latching him on though but I'll be patient the nights are difficult or when he does feeding cues and then just wants to suck for comfort

Ollie did the hand sucking a lot, we now use a dummy to pacify him if nothing else works and he's tired. i didn't want to but he's actually happier with it, he just wants the comfort and he's not using me for that! he uses it lass now already, but i'll keep it around til he's 6 months or so, it means he self soothes himself to sleep in the evenings too which is amazing! We get the odd green nappy, i don't worry and neither does the hv if he is gaining weight along his growth curve. I would only start expressing once you are ahppy bfing is ok, and thats up to you. 3-4 weeks was it for us, when i knew we were doing ok and supply seemed well established. I don't express much, enough for DH to do a feed a couple of times a week, so a couple of ounces daily if i can, keep inthe fridge and then transfer to the freezer after 3 days if we aren't going to use it straight away. It also means we have stocks for if we want to go out on a night and leave him with mil or my mum. He now eats 8 oz in a feed, so don't underestimate how much he might need if you start expressing. Hope its going ok, I find nights the hardest still too xxx

It really does get so much easier after 6 weeks or so. I started expressing the odd bottle from 2-3 weeks because Harry had a bad tongue tie and I needed to express at times to give my nipples a break. He took to it really well and has never refused a bottle. We try and do one at least once a week as we know family who's babies refuse to take a bottle which makes any evenings out a nightmare.
As for only feeding for 10 mins a time, Harry has only ever fed for 5-10 mins a time, even now at 7 months he still does. Some babies just feed more quickly than others. As for the greeny poos, it could be wind. Harry was a nightmare to wind and sometimes got green poos because if it xx

Oh yeah, we also use a dummy and have done since he was 3 days old to soothe him and stop the comfort sucking and had no problems xx
