Im 5 days overdue today and am quite worried. Im not a particulary huge person so dont particualry want a heffer of a baby. Im worried the longer she stays in there the huger she will become and i will have to give birth to a 13lb baby
At 40 weeks my midwife said the fundal height was 37cm a little small does this mean baby will be small in length and weight? or just length, like could she be a tiny length baby but still weigh heavy? Am confused. And 40 weeks was 5 days ago now and ive been eating loads, could she of had a growth spurt since then and plumped up?

Sorry for all the questions, i wish she would come out, have had no water leakage, no Bh , no plug, no nothing im scared shes going to carry on growing and grow into a monster.

not necessarily. i went 10 days over with my daughter and she was 7lb 15oz. went 10 days over with my son and he was 10lb 7.5oz

I went through pregnancy being told i was 5 weeks behind and to expect a small baby. And to be honest, i was the size of a 7 month pregnant girl. But i went 10 days over, and gave birth to 8lb 3oz.
That sounds big, but she wasn't really. She was quite dinky. Even people questioned her weight and if it was a mistake.
So no, not necessarily.
My older sister was 11 days over with her 3rd and he was very smalled and weighed 7lb 10.5oz.

i went 13 days over and summer was 7lb 2oz

going over definitely doesn't mean big baby

In my case it did though:

DD 10lbs 10oz 18 days overdue
DS 10lbs 1oz 15 day overdue

but lots of other overdue women have babies much smaller than that :)

My friend had scans on her "huge" baby all through her pregnancy, he measured 6lb something at 34 weeks. She went 10 days overdue and he was a whopping...

...7lb 12oz! :rotfl:

Lucy was born at 40+13 and was a very healthy 6lb 14oz - so no, going overdue does not mean you'll have a big baby!

As above, everyones different...

You could still have a 6lb'er in there at 10 days over.

I was 3 days over and had 7lb 7.5oz baby... doubt he'd of really got to 8lb even if id gone 10lb

Someone in my antenatal class was due the same day as me. She went a week over and her little boy was 5lb 10oz. I went 9 days over and my girl was 8lb 5oz. There's no telling how big a baby will be.

I think Sherlock said it is easier to push out a big baby.

i was 9 days over with my first and she was 7lb 10oz and i was 10 days over with my 4th and he was 7lb 7 1/2oz

i went 15 days over and thomas was 6lb 12 born
dont worry too much hun
xx

not necessarily... i went 15 days overdue and leah was 7lb 11oz so not huge but not tiny

My son went 4 days over my scan date (I think) and was born on my LMP date. He was 8lb 1 and 55cm. I think his length had thrown them off on scans. They said he would be over 10lbs!

To be completely honest with you I don't think pushing out a 10lb baby hurts significantly more than pushing out a 6lb baby! So don't worry too much about the size.

I went 7 days over with my DS, and he was 8lb 6oz. My sister went 5 days over with both her youngest 2 DDs, and they were 9lb 5oz and 10lb dead.

Like the others have said, fundal height and estimated weights don't really mean anything. You'll be fine no matter what the size, but I hope you pop soon cos I know what it's like to be overdue and it's not fun!

10lb dead?

My daughter was 7lbs 8 and 2 weeks early, she would have been alot bigger ifI'd have gone over. I was big at birth though and so was my Mum so I think that has alot to do with it rather than the amount of time you go over.

Sorry I meant exactly 10lb. Didn't think about how I wrote that  . She's fine :)

I spoke to my consultant about this the other day because Aaron was 8lb 8.5oz at 14 days over due so I said if he'd been born on date would he have been smaller? The consultant told me babies don't put weight on if they go over due which I thought was a bit weird but most have some truth or I don't think he'd have said it.
