Does anyone think symptoms really do predict gender?

When I had my dd 4yr ago wow I was so ill was in hospital at this point in pregnancy just managing to eat 1 cracker a day slept most of the day too.

This time we dtd 6 days prior to ovulation due to OH working away so expected that would mean was more than likely to have another girl (didnt plan it to be like that just had to). I have had periods of feeling sick but so so so tired all i want to do is lie down but managing to eat still not as much but much better than last time. Only the smell of our clean washing is making me feel sick.

Does this sound like could well be a boy or people with 2 of same gender did you experience different symptoms🤔

I have 2 boys and now pregnant with a girl. My boy pregnancies were very similar, I was absolutely exhausted during the first 12 weeks but hardly any sickness, and felt fantastic from 16 weeks until birth. This pregnancy with my girl I was quite sick in the early stages (not actually throwing up just nauseous) but felt brilliant veteeen 6-13 weeks no tiredness or sickness at all. But then felt pretty rubbish with nausea and tiredness between 13-20 weeks. Now at 23 weeks I feel better. So definitely a difference here xx

I don't believe in the ovulation thing, my first son was conceived 3 days prior to ovulation so he should have been a girl going by that method, and this girl the night before ovulation so she should have been a boy! :) (wasn't tracking with second son sodont know about him) xx

I will be chuffed with either but oh was a bit bummed when he found out the ovulation theory. Im not sure I believe it either he believes everything be reads lol

He has no idea about what to believe and what not...almost ready to say because your brother had a girl and then a boy *people* reckon we will have the same....just to give him some hope lol just hope he doesn't tell people that theory or he will be red faced lol

I believe there is some science behind the ovulation theory - female sperm are slower swimmers than boys but have more staying power (i.e they don't die as quickly) whereas boys don't seem to survive as long and make a made dash for the egg. Therefore supposedly if the sperm has had to stick around for a while waiting for the egg it is more likely to be a girl but a day before ovulation onwards it would more than likely be an even race as it is supposed to take them 24 hours to swim up the tubes and meet the egg. My two children were both the result of DTD on the day of ovulation and I have one of each. This pregnancy however we DTD two days before I think I ovulated. I dont know what I'm having yet but my symptoms have been more similar to being pregnant with my daughter and I think my scan possibly makes me think girl more x

i just knew i was having a boy, gut instinct.

also i had opposite symptoms as well to my mum when she was pregnant with me. no sickness, no symptoms etc im sure it would have been different if i was having a girl

Sorry nope i dont belive, not at all.
I had opposite pregnancies. first i was sick all the way, craved sweet things, heartburn, low bump. Girl
my second no sickness, craved raw meat, no heartburn, high bump. Girl.
i was so sure that i must be carrying the opposite sex i had them check again at the scan lmao. I think this one will be a girl because we had sex way before ovulation.
I kind of want another girl though so its all good! xx

Im actually quite excited that it isnt sort if a done deal for a boy or girl....I keep telling my oh I think its a boy but almost think I am thinking this ton get him super excited. I like the idea of it possibly being either from symptoms if that makes sense?

Yes i understand what you mean, i think of it this way if Henry the 8th's wives couldnt figure out how to make their child a boy then there is no way to control it! hahaha.

I was the same as Ams, I felt exhausted in the first 12 weeks and barely any sickness. I've now felt great since and have no symptoms at all and I'm having a boy! I didn't read too much into old wives tales but the no sickness thing does tend to lead to more boys but not always! I'm sure it's proven that girls cause more hormonal changes which causes the sickness but I'm not sure!! x

By the sickness I had since week 3-4 until now and reading above I start to believe I'll have a girl :) Though I don't really believe in this things. Will see at 20 week scan :D

I didn't have any sickness with my first and only wanted savoury food which pointed to a boy but I had a girl. This time around I've had some sickness and can't get enough oranges which points towards a girl but I'm convinced it's a boy.

The sickness thing was right for me, I had horrible morning sickness and had a girl. I didn't have any actual cravings but fancied salty things rather than sweet which I think was more a boy thing?

Also obsessed with orange juice which I dunno if it was a girl thing but just seen the post above? xxx

I get sickness every month with my period anyway (all night long) ive been taking anti cramp tablets for that but its caused by hormones, apparently the hormone change in my period is enough to make me sick so i think any pregnancy can make you sick, it just depends on your body and how it deals with the hormones. Does anyone understand what i mean? xxx

Mummy to a beautiful girl here. I had sickness every day for the first 3 months x

I had sickness with my first girl
no sickness with my second girl
too early to tell with this one xx
