Just got a letter today saying:

An appointment has been made for Alexander Gosney, born 14/08/2007, to attend "insert name of doctors surgery" on 14 August 2008 at 14.10 for their Booster HIB Men C immunisation.

I mean COME ON. They want me to take my baby son to get jabbed on his BIRTHDAY? What kind of a sucky birthday would that be for him?! And do they really think I don't have any plans for that day?!

Geez why can't they think logically for just 5 minutes? :wall:

I'd ring them and change it. I wouldn't have the heart to do it. Plus like you say, you could have a party planned.

yeh I'm definitely going to change it. I can't put him through that on his birthday poor mite.

That's so cruel!! Poor Alex :wall:

At least you're getting your jabs mind. Connie's 14 weeks and only had one set

I never knew they booked it FOR you :shakehead:
WE make the appoinment on a day that we can make they cant just expect you to drop everyting and run
I book all my appoinments to try and fit around when James is home as i dont drive luckly its not been to much of a pain

Ring them a rearange it
Alex deserves to enjoy his Birthday :D
a few day would not hurt him to wait

Yeh for baby stuff (6 week check plus imms) they always make the appointment for you at my surgery and then send you a letter telling you when it is. 9 times out of 10 I find it's always at an inconvenient time. Gah.

I've got a feeling my docs are going to do the same to Mhairi!

We've got a drop in clinic though, so I'll just drop out that week and drop in the next!

Those jab lists are usually mass generated here. Batches of babies/kids once a month.

Yeh I guess that's probably what happened. Very annoying though.

I had to go down to the post office to pick up a letter that there had been unsufficient postage paid on. It was from the doctors to tell me that jessica had an appointment for her 4 yearly check. By the time I got the letter the date and been and gone. I had to pay £1.06 for that..

ohh that would have ticked me off!

Aww what a nasty bday present from the doctors :( defo change it hun x

They don't do individual appointments here. Its a mass appointment and loads of parents with babies turn up. Bloody chaos. Apparently our GP's surgery don't have anything to do with the dates and times, they just compile a list of all the babies who need jabs and send them to an admin place elsewhere who book and mail them all out.

I only got a separate appointment a week later because I phoned and complained. Otherwise I had to wait another month for the next jab clinic and we'd have been even more behind :wall:
