Do you dream feed? Do you wind after?

As it says in the title - there seems to be a lot of conflicting stuff on internet about validity of dream feeds, does anyone do them here and if so is it successful? And if not, any particular reason? And does one wind baby after? It seems it would defeat the object to wind them but surely you need to?

I personally think it's really cruel thing to do BUT out of shear desperation I have tried once and might again to get Tyler used to a bottle (he won't take awake but I've read stories about them getting used to them asleep then having them awake) I only gave him an oz and he didn't finish it.

They don't need winding because they are so relaxed they suck differently.

I've tried this and couldn't get Henry to latch :( he just wouldn't open wide enough, despite brushing his lip with my nipple.

I dream feed Fin every night when I go to bed without winding aftwrwards. He has his eyes closed but when close to me he opens his mouth and starts sucking automatically. I don't dream feed with a bottle, just me atm. He's in bed at 6.30pm, I dream feed him at 10. He wakes up at 2-2.30 for a feed then @6.30 he's up for the day and another feed. If I didn't dream
Feed he'd wake every 1.5-2 hours after 2.30 so I save me and him the disruption. Persevere....it does work and isn't cruel!!!

I don't dream feed but we both barely wake up for our night feeds so I don't burp no.

I have to wake my LO for some day time feeds and she is barely awake when taking them and don't always burp if she fals back to sleet while eating.

If your little one gets trapped wind then I would do a gentle wind but of not and they are asleep put them back to sleep.

I read some where that sitting then up right for a few minutes the lying them back down can help release wind, so I try and do this with G if she falls asleep on the boob. Xxx

I think I'm dream feeding now... He was due a bottle at 9, waited till half 10 and he'd still not woke, so got him out of bed, changed his bum, and he'd still not woke, teased him with the bottle and he opened his mouth and started feeding, lazy bugger!! X

I tried to stick my nipple in his mouth last night at midnight, but he didnt stir or suck. Fail!

I've just started dream feeding with a bottle of expressed. Even if he's zonked as soon as the milk touches his lips he starts sucking. maybe try squeezong out a few drops and putting it in his mouth so he starts rooting. I don't think its cruel as baby needs lots of sleep to be well rested and happy, and if feeding him in his sleep means he get more 'useful' deeper sleep then thats good. I wish someone could take the wee out of my in my sleep so I didn't have to go to the toilet 4 times a night still! :P

LOL I just tried to lower my breast into the moses basket, like a big dangling udder! Got a bit of milk in his eye, but he just screwed face up so i went away again
