How big were all you ladies at birth?

OH was 8lb 2oz and I was 10lb 1/2oz  Can't help wondering if this means we're likely to have created a jumbo baba!! My younger brother was just under 10lb too.

I was 7lb 8 oz and OH was 10lb 13 oz  :| :?

Please let my baby be like me

Not too sure about this, I think it has more to do with how you are as adults, tbh. I was quite a relatively normal size baby 7lb 14oz, but OH was only 5lb 4oz, and neither of us are particularly big now. However, my family is pretty big and has a history of big babies, so I do think its in the genes somewhere. My first was 8lb 14.5oz, but in the family recently there has been a few between 9 and 11lb!! My cousin also had twins which were over 7lb each, so if you combine that weight, they were huge! I definately think it runs in the family somehow, but as for predicting it, who knows? Im kinda expecting to have another big baby, but only because my first was big and I am massive already (see my belly in the tummy pics!).

I was 7lb and OH was 5lb and our baby is apparently a biff and estimated to weigh over 8lb a week ago  I hope he isnt that big LOL I'll let you knwo when Ive popped!!

I think I was almost 9lbs when I was born..My Mum was over 10lbs.
Ella was 7lbs 8oz at 2 weeks early..so she would have been 8.5lbs/9 if she went to 40 weeks.

I was 5lb 12oz and 5 days late. My son was 8lb 12oz and 10 days late so it doesn't always correlate

I was 10lb and half an ounce born and dh was 10lb 2oz. Aaron weighed in at 8lb 8.5oz so not a bad weight for a first baby! Midwife reckons this one will be a big one too.

i dont think so.. becoz i was only 6ib3 at birth and my lovely Dear Son was 8ib 12 at birth

No i don't think this has any truth to it.

I was just over 3lb at birth (10 week early)
My son was 8.3.5oz

Nothing similar there.

This might be an interesting question to put to the Ask a Mum section...

i was 7lb 4oz husband was 6lb 11oz and mine were 8lb 9oz and 10lb 4oz (prem 35+5)

I don't think it makes any difference. I was 7lb 11oz at birth, not sure about hubby and we've had 4lb 5oz, 5lb 9oz and 6lb. My sister was bigger than me at birth and she had a 2lb 9oz baby.

Thanks for your replies girls, sounds like there isn't much of a link, just thinking about what I might be in for!

Also been wondering if there is a genetic link between needing sections, my mum, her sister and their mum (my gran) each had 2 children. In each case the first was born by emergency section and the second a planned section. Something to do with the shape of their pelvis and it not being possible to give birth naturally without harming baby

Mum told me to mention this to midwife as she'd mentioned about her mother and sisters problems during pregnancy but was told she'd be fine - until the mad panic to get me out!! Midwife said it was irrelevant but I can't help wondering if my pelvis is this dodgy shape too.

Always something to worry about now we're mum's to be! Guess it's the start of many many years worth!

I was about 5lb and a very small baby my OH was 8lbs he was a bit roundy! We are both tiny now though. So I'm interested at how big Pip will be.

I was 8lb 7oz and OH was 8lb something too. I suspect this bubs will be a bigun' too :D

I was 10lbs 9 ounces. and DH was 6lbs something. I'm hoping for somewhere in between, hopefully on the lower side  I was a late baby though so I guess I put on some weight at the end there, hopefully my kiddo will be more punctual than I was.
