Did you take snacks with you?

I packed some bourbon biscuits, those nutri grain bars for OH and Capri Sun drinks. But they didn't come out the car til after Angel arrived! I didn't have time to take my hospital bag in as she was so bloody quick. I was being fed sips of water though. Straight after i was offered tea and toast. I took the tea coz all the screaming made me thirsty but i was too excited to have the toast. I was taken up to ward at 10am so lunch was 2 hours away.

I didn't get time to eat as had quick labour but after I was starving. I stuffed my face while on the ward with ham sandwiches and sausage rolls (very healthy  ). The hospital only offered me lamb stew at lunch time which was :puke: . I would pack some sandwiches and biscuits.

I think it's definitely worth taking something with you, if you don't eat it your OH will!

Becky thats a good point. My OH went off to have some lunch  So my mum came down to sit with me for a bit. I was in a pethedine haze at the time or I would never have let him leave me. Def take some food for OH then he has no excuse!

My labour was so quick that I didn't have time to eat and honestly it was the last thing on my mind (had packed a few bags of crisps though) :?

I got a couple of bags of giant chocolate buttons to stash in me bag  good idea for the lucozade though will get some in :D

I didn't take anything in with me and regretted it - I didn't need it while I was actually in labour (it only lasted 3 and a half hours, if it had been longer I might have needed extra energy, plus I kept being sick so didn't feel like eating anyway) but after I had him I really wanted a bottle of coke and a chocolate bar and all the hospital sold in it's vending machines was healthy stuff! He was born at 9 so the shop there was shut, so I was stuck with water and a piece of dry toast from the midwives and a Go Ahead bar when I really wanted to pig out! I did take a bottle of Lucozade sport which I drank while in labour though.

I took cereal bars, boiled sweets and carton drinks. Never thought to actually eat anything in labour (contractions were never more than a couple of mins apart) and it was only after LO was born and I had been stiched up that I realised we hadn't eaten for about 15 hours - boy was the toast they made us nice!! I scoffed most of it during the next day or to though.
