According to my DS (who watches me like a hawk for any signs of a BFP)
and KS3 Biology...

The reason we get shiny hair and slightly redder lips in pregnancy is to "keep our male interested in us" This trait meant that we looked extra attractive to our male during pregnancy and he stayed and protected us and our young A left over from our days as monkeys.

So they just overlooked the stretchmarks, swollen ankles, mood swings and bigger bums then

Im sure it has something to do with hormones but if thats what they are teaching in school who am i to argue with!

The only thing that is red and shiney on me are all the spots.

aahh but natural selection meant the females with the most of those hormones kept their males and bred more..so that became a trait of our species

I knew that A level in Biology would come in useful one day...it's bugger all use helping me to concieve..they taught us how to stop babies but nowt about helping them get there
