Just back from docs, anyway it was bad news, I'm 32 and wish my docs had listened to me years ago. my fsh levels are 60 and they won't even give ivf for those levels. I'm absolutely devastated and my hubby to be was even in tears. They are going to re do the tests anyway and referred me for a scan.

Thanks, the doctor at my surgery specialises in infertility, she even looked sad. Hopefully scan will tell me more. I need a. Period to get a blood test done ASAP to see if my levels change at all.

I don't really know what is next. The nhs is a joke!!!!! I might even have to look at egg donation which is gutting.. I don't even know what my ivf chances are...

Mishi the first bloods were taken about week 10 of my cycle. 2nd retest taken week 13 . My periods were terribly irregular.. Is it true your fsh levels go up throughout your cycle? I'm hoping I'll get af soon so I can retest. I've booked myself an acupuncture session, started drinking wheatgrass smoothies, I will try anything right now xxx

Gemmainthesun we have to go private if we want ivf which is a definite. We are even looking at cancelling our wedding so we can do this, the nhs is a joke!!!

I'm hoping the scan of my ovaries will tell me more and I'm pushing for the other test on egg quantity ( can't remember the name)

Our local fertility clinic has a waiting list for egg donation too.

my advise is to really let this digest and get as much info as possible with realistic stats and ivf success with your own eggs as private you will be looking more like 5k and its alot to throw away if you could use it towards donar ivf where your chances will be around 40-60% depending on clinic as opposed to a small percen t with your own eggs... get a few opinions, also have you thought about ivf abroad I know a few ladies on here have had first time success with penny in serum greece and she does more testing too and helps the hardest of cases. xxx

Yes honey it can vary hugely depending on what stage you are at in your cycle. Would be worth getting your AMH and antral follicle count done and your FSH retested when you KNOW you are early in your cycle. Your FSH can go up to 50 (this is normal) just after ovulation, so it may be that yours is only a bit high rather than ridiculously so.

It would be worth tracking a cycle with opk's to make sure you're being tested at the right time!

Oh and I'm one of those ladies that would highly recommend Serum Clinic in Athens. Penny will do her utmost to get you pregnant and she's incredible. You can buy two cycles for €5000 and flights and accommodation is cheap!

Just had results from my retest and they have gone down from 60 to 40 without my period. Obviously they are still bad but a drop may not mean the worst case. I still have a bad ovarian reserve...I was dreading her saying they had gone up to 80 or something,lol we seeing her thurs am again too...
