I have been trying to get pregnant for over 2 years now, however since coming off the depo I can’t have a period on my own. The doctor told me to go on the pill to help regulate them which did work but as soon as I came off them my periods stopped. They tested my bloods and my thyroids came back a little high but nothing I needed treatment for. I’ve also had a scan on my pelvic area to check for PCOS or any problems but that came back fine too. I really don’t know what to do at this point because it’s pointless being on the pill if I want to get pregnant. My boyfriend has also been tested! I have been pregnant before but had a miscarriage 4 years ago.

Ask for m9re tests hun and tell them you want your thyroid levels checked again if your thyroid is off even a little it can effect things

I’ve had them tested about 3 times and they vary every time, the doctor said I just need to go back every 6 months and that’s it. Thanks for the reply xx

I'd still push them hun them just leaving you without a period isn't right and just keep telling you to go on birth control isn't either when your wanting to try for a baby. Now dependent on if your in the UK or the US depends on what the next steps are hun gyno or fertility referrals should be being made really

If you’re not bleeding without the pill you’re probably not ovulating. Ask the doc about trying clomid, that’s meant to stimulate ovulation. Also I’d go to another doctor if you can - birth control doesn’t fix anything fertility wise, it just masks problems. Stupid suggestion.

I agree with everything winterwolf said.
You obviously need clomid to help you with ovulation.
Good luck

Have you been to a hospital fertility dept? They might be able to give you artificial hormones to start the periods. I know low weight can affect periods as can stress...could they be a factor? You need a hospital fertility doc rather than a GP on this.

The periods you have on the pill aren't really periods since you aren't ovulating. It's just "breakthrough" bleeding caused by the change in hormone levels. It sounds like your doctor is not listening to you at all if s/he's putting you on the pill when you're actively ttc. So whatever you do next, change doctor if you can.

Do you know your body mass index (BMI)? If you're underweight this can be something that stops you from ovulating, so might be worth checking: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-weight/bmi-calculator/
