Hi,
Any one been on the depo and started to try? I had 2 depo shots and stopped my last one was the 12th October and ive not had a period had a positive test then several negative ones. So obviously not pregnant so just wondering if any one could help give a timeline what they’ve been through? How hard was t to fall pregnant? Thanks xx

It completely depends on the person. Your positive test seems odd, when was that?

When I came off the depo injection it took me over a year for my periods to come back regularly. It was awful to be honest as I kept having lots of pregnancy symptoms. I hope it doesn't take you as long as it did me.

A more positive story is my sister, she had the same as me the first time she came off the depo - but then the second time she came off early as she knew how long it took her last time and got pregnant the next month (which meant she ended up being 4 months pregnant when she got married)

It was almost 2 weeks ago. And now nothing all negative putting it down to a faulty test how long was it until you had your first one I’ve had nothing and my last depo was due 28th December but I never went back for it so I’m just waiting and hoping at comes so we an start trying xx

I can't remember when I had my first bleed, but it took me 9 months until I ovulated for the first time from when my last injection was due (I started doing OPKs all the time as I was constantly second guessing whether I could be pregnant or not)

It's so hard to say what will happen with the depo. Fingers crossed you're one of the luckier ones

It took me 6 months for my periods to come back after the depo. We didn't really ttc properly until around 2 years after I came off the depot though, and it turns out I have other problems including high FSH and low amh though, which were possibly masked the whole time I was on the depo. Have just had first positive test :-)

Congratulations! We’ve got two girls so thought this was perfect time to start trying for a boy. It’s been a week short of 6 months since my last injection doc was talking about agnus castus? If any ones tried that x

I tried it but I don't know if it made any difference. It's really hard to say. It's worth giving it a go as it won't have any negative effects. I also took extra iron.

Other than that all I can suggest is trying to relax and not worry about TTC for a while, as otherwise you will drive yourself mad not knowing what your body is doing. I know I did

It’s driving me insane anyways lol. Did the iron work do you think?

No idea, sorry I can't be anymore help than that. If I were you I'd just take extra things like iron if you can (folic acid as well and then at least when you are ready to start trying you know you have been taking that as you should take it 3 months before trying)

I really feel for you, I know I felt like I was going crazy when I was coming off it too :(

Have you had any symptoms?

It took 3 years for my periods to come back as normal but I was on it for longer than I should of been (almost 6 years) the nurse never once told me it could be ages to get back to normal if I wanted to ttc in future which I think they should warn us. Hopefully you’ve only had 2 shots so won’t take long to get out your system xx
