Depo Injection

I'm going back on this after being on the pill for 9 months and keep forgetting to take it.

Have been on it before but have forgotten what to expect after the jab? Like how long do I have to wait before getting jiggy and if the jabs have a break in between

u dont have a break, just the jab every 13wks!! and i think u only have to wait something like 48hrs, bt double check on that 1

I cant remember how long you have to wait when you first get it ( i think it might me if you get it at the start of your cycle it starts stigth away but its nearly 13 years since i first got it so dont take my word for it) you dont have a brake on it and normally get another injection aporx evey 3 mnths, I know my nurse used to give me ampintment cards with 11 weeks on and tell me to come in around then.

When I had it I was told to wait a week before having unprotected sex. That was after a D&C though.

You see i was never told to wait a week with my first. Then i missed a month before getting it renewed and i wasn't told then either!

I was at it the next night (after the numb bum wore off!)

I know this wasn't your question but I feel the need to tell you that. If you are considering any more children, in the short term, then it's best not to take the Depo. As the after effects can last upto 2 1/2 years.

They recommend that you wait 48-72 hours after the first injection before having sex. There are no break between injects, why it's so effective, it's taken every 11-13 weeks. You can also carry on having sex straight after the injection and will be "covered" as there will be still some of the last one.
