Morning ladies, just wondering what age you started taking your little one to the dentist? My little boy has just had his second birthday and not got all his teeth yet but is it worth starting to go now to get him used to it? It's a battle to get him to brush his teeth and inevitably ends in him on the floor crying whilst one of us brushes!!

Yes, he should be seeing the dentist, but it's fine just to take him along to your appointments so he can get used to sitting in the chair etc.

My lo is 21 months and has been twice now, we got twice a year. We've been brushing his teeth everyday and have the one from wisdom that's easy to hold themselves.. I've always let him do it himself and brush a bit before or after.. These days it's easier to do it before but it used to be after he messed with it himself.. In about two months I want to more rigorously brush twice a day. Get a brush that's easy to hold for themselves so they can have that control and don't see it as a torture item.. Then just get them used that you brush it for them now and again with a bit of toothpaste.. My dentist has pointed out brushing in the evening before bed is most important.. I remember my sisters being a little older and usually been given their toothbrushes in the bath then when they got out my mam brushed them over for them.

We haven't been yet. My dentist isn't practical for a pram (all the actual dentists have rooms upstairs). It's also walk-in for check-ups and emergencies so is usually really busy. I'm lucky enough to have an NHS dentist!!!

I need a check-up soon so I'll take James with me now he's ok to go on foot and start getting him used to it.

We brush his teeth twice a day. I let him do it himself for a while then one of us give him a proper brush. We do it after breakkie and before bed.

My LO is 3 and we have been taking her along with us every 6 months and she still won't allow him to look i think she just wants to go for his stickers lol
But yes if you can it won't hurt to get him used to it :)

My dentist said to me to bring him along to my appointments so he gets used to the room and surroundings and then When he's two she would start to sit him in the chair etc.. So that eventually she would be able to look at his teeth

Hmmmm my lo is 3.5 and hasn't been yet :( I should take him I guess...

My dentist sees them as soon as they get their first tooth! He's 13 month & has been twice. He wasn't as obliging 2nd time around
