Has anyone else read about dehydration bringing on premature labour? I was in hospital in a bed next to another woman a while ago (yeah- labour ward, no kidding, right?). Anyway, she was put on a drip, and I'm fairly sure it was just to keep her fluids up; to try to reduce her contractions, as she was still very early.
I'm still not so sure on this one, though. The books don't tell you about it. I'm slightly worried, because I don't drink tea, coffee or hot chocolate (I'm lactose intolerant, and not that into other hot drinks); and while the weather's cold I can't bear to drink much, becasue even the thought of a cold glasss of water makes me feel even colder still..... but then there's the slight worry it might cause me and the babe problems.
I'm at 34 weeks now (and currently trying to get through a glass of cold water before bed )
Anyone else heard of this, or have I got it wrong?
