Not sure if I'm over reacting but I'm worried Joseph may be a little dehydrated. I'm exclusively breastfeeding and am feeding on demand but his saliva seems a little thicker coz he's blowing bubbles a lot more and his wee smells quite strong sometimes (although I haven't noticed it being dark yellow as yet). I was also feeling the top of his head & thought his fontanelle seemed like it was a little deeper (although this could be me being paranoid). do you think it would be ok to give him a little cooled boiled water?

Joe's got his first imm's on monday so will mention this to the doctor when I see them.

Cooled boiled water if fine hunni :) if chloe's dips I give her cooled boiled water normally does the trick make sure your drinking 2L of water a day too so your producing enough or him too xx

I normally give it after that way you know they have had all of what you have got and not filling up on water before a feed x

Is he feeding lots and seeming satisfied after feeds? And are his nappies quite heavy when you change him? Water wouldn't do him any harm but if you're feeding him regularly he really shouldn't need it x x

Hi Sams mum, yea he has plenty of heavy wet nappies and does seem satisfied when I feed him. I think I was overreacting to be honest but I'll still mention it to the doctor xxx

Definitely worth mentioning anyway but the way they're acting and what comes out the other end is generally a good indication when you can't see exactly how much they're drinking :) x
