Hey all!

I'm a wee bit worried that Baillie doesn't get enough fluid during the day. this is our routine

5am-7am 7oz formula
8am breakfast - solids
10am-11am - snacky finger food
12 - lunch - solids
2pm-3pm - 7oz formula
5pm - dinner - solids
7pm - 7oz formula.

This is all fine and dandy - a routine set out by HV - but she refuses to take juice/water out of any cup in between her milk feeds. Surely she is not getting enough???

What should I do?

I think the recommendation is that they still have around 500ml of milk each day when weaning Have you tried giving her some milk before her lunch perhaps? Or some milk instead of finger food in the morning? Not really sure though if that's what your HV has advised

Thanks for the reply :) We had a better day today - she took some apple and blackcurrant baby juice out of her cup today. Phew! Put my mind to rest a bit.

Hi, it sounds fine to me, but if you are ever concerned that you LO is dehydrated you can pinch the skin on the back of the hand and if it stays 'peaked' then they are dehydrated. If the skin returns to normal then they are fine. :)
