Hi,
I'm looking for some advice. I had my LO late last Sunday for the first 2-3 days she struggled to latch. Saw the mw who helped us and my nipples are basically too flat no matter what I do and as a result she went from 7lb 2 to 6lb 3
so I've been using shields and she's been feeding much better. However because of the weight loss the hospital gave me a feeding plan which says I need to top up with 25-50ml of expressed after she's bf 8 times a day/every 3 hours. Anyway the mw saw her again yesterday and she put on 35g in the two days we had the plan. But she said that babies should be putting on 20-40g a day so Elsie wasn't quite putting on enough.
So today I've noticed that there doesnt seem to be as much milk coming out and she's getting unhappy at the breast because it's more difficult to get anything. Before I was literally dripping and would have to change because it soaked through my pads even when I expressed. But now the pads are mostly dry. In in a bit of a panic that it's dried up and that her next weigh in is tomorrow and she won't be able to out on because I can't feed her enough.
Is there anything I can do?
Thanks xx
