12 days overdue today so after two unsuccessful sweeps and about 3 weeks of symptom spotting I have been admitted for induction - eeeek!!
12:30 admitted onto maternity ward. Obs performed and all normal. Put on trace to monitor baby for 20 mins and all fine. As I had a second sweep on Thursday and the community midwife said I was a good 3cm dilated and she could feel my waters the hospital midwife was happy not to examine and just send me to delivery suite. I'm now waiting for a bed on delivery so they can break my waters. Unfortunately the girl in the queue before me has been waiting for a bed since yesterday! Been for a walk and now just waiting - will update when I can.
6:45pm had tea. Still no sign of a bed as delivery suite is very busy with emergency sections etc. Hoping to be moved sometime before 9pm. Would be really handy if labour started spontaneously now as I could just go straight to the birthing unit! Oh well, I've waited 12 days - what's one more day!
6.30 am Finally taken to delivery suite as bed became available. Called hubby back to hospital.
8.00am Waters artificially broken - will be given 4 hours to allow labour to start before being given drip.
11.33am Daniel John arrived safely after 57 minutes established labour - woo hoo! Thrilled to bits with our gorgeous little boy and so worth the wait! Will post birth story when I have a few mins!
