Wondering if you can give me some advice..

How do you work cycles out? Since having Jack I haven't been back on pill we just used condoms so as far as my period is concerned i've not took much notice. It's usually aroun the 11-14th of each month apart from last month when I was a week late but back to normal again now.

Do I count from first day of period?

Any advice welcome as I don't have a clue about these things

yeah first day of af to the next first day of af, if that makes sense, good luck hun :)

 Hiya

A lot of us ladies count Day 1 of cycle as the first day of full flow (although there is a discussion somewhere that day 1 is classed as when you spot if you spot before AF) I hope that makes sense

A text book example of cycles is that on a 28day cycle you OV about day 14 so get bding from about cd10-15 as the fertile "window" is about 3 days before OV and the day after.

Hope that helps a bit

Yep you start from day one of your period, when it is in full flow so to speak, not just spotting. Then ovulation should occur around day 14 (this varies in everybody, mine changes each month too, its around day 15 - 19 of my cycle) so if you have a 28 day cycle then ovulation would occur around day 14. Basically halve your cycle time and you probably ovulate around that time. Once you know what your ovulation day is approx you can time sex to the best advantage, or you can just have sex all the time and it wont really matter when you ovulate! Yay!

The Luteal Phase is the time after you have ovulated, i.e. the Two Week Wait. which isnt actually 2 weeks for everyone, mine is 13 days for example. Luteal Phases usually last between 10 and 16 days. Your luteal phase length should stay the same length each cycle pretty much, but the time before ovulation can vary in length each month. So say I ovulated on day 15, i would add 13 days to that, so I would expect to get my period on day 29. Its only cos Ive been round here so long that I know exactly when to expect my period, and I chart too, which makes things alot clearer and I dont get my hopes up too much. Using Ovulation Predictor kits or charting helps me alot, I get all my OPKs from ebay, they are really cheap and worth it my opinion as without them I wouldnt know for sure when I was about to ovulate.

I hope that helps, its probably more confusing than helpful!
