Sometimes when Owen cries he stops breathing... its only when hes really upset, which is only when hes waiting for food or has wind. He screams and just like holds his breath.

He has been doing it for a while, he even did it once when the health visitor was here, she didnt seem to worried, just said to blow in his face when he does it and he will breath. Now he's started doing it for longer & blowing in his face doesnt always work, you have to do it a few times for him to breath.

I am being calm about it when he does it because i dont want him to sense that im worried, if that makes sense?? I'm just wondering if i call the health visitor about it or something?? I'm just very worried that one day he will just stop breathing and i wont know what to do!

Thanks for help in advance... Hayley xxx

Does he only do it when he is awake and hungry hun? Damien does this now, he loses his breath and has to wait a few seconds till eh can catch it again, he's done for as logn as I can remember.

As for if they stop breathing, you rub their backs quite firmly, flick their hands and feet to get them to 'resume' normal breathing :D

A bit off topic but I always thought blowing in their face made them hold their breath? When I take Ella swimming I was told to blow in her face before I put her underwater?

If they are crying blowing in their face can help as it stops them and makes them take in a breath.

Thanks for that Beanie, I always thought it did the opposite!

braydon never did this but my mum warned me about it
she also sed dont worry as they have summit telling em wen they stop breathing to start again
give him hugs from me n B
