I know this is an early subject but I was talking to my mum last night. When she was pregnant with me and my brother (a 3 and a half yr difference between us), she said that we both ‘engaged’ (if that’s the right word) at 30 weeks. Apparently, my mum is 5”8, the doctors said because she is tall, the babies had more space to turn and it was quicker.

So, really these both happened 4 /6 week early but we were both born on time. The only problem my mum had was that we both would stick our heels into her chest/ribs; she’d attempt to grab us but obviously would grab herself.

Is there a possibility this could happen to me do you think?

P.S... Please excuse me if I sound naive at any point; just don’t get that much info on anything out here!

Edited to change 'crowned' to engaged

Crowing is where the midwife can see the babys head about to come out. Are you sure this is what your Mum meant?

That's the one, engage! See, told you I know jack sh*t

I'm going to be a good mum huh :D

Hi

aww hun not your fault there are somany words we have to learn what they all are :?
Katrina

Are you quite tall as well then?

My baby engaged at 34 weeks which is quite early. Was fully engaged at 36 weeks but now is only 3/5 engaged again. I'm quite short though so I don't know why it happened so early this time.

Unfortunately although it's a good sign it doesn't mean that baby will be born early as your mum found out!

I am 5"10 and so is my fella, my brother is 6"3................I really do feel sorry for my mum

Thank you for the advice!

I don't have an answer to your question, I'm really not sure. Just wanted to say I hope there is something in the being tall/engaging theory. I'm 5"10 (born 2 weeks early!!) and DH is 6"3. Keeping fingers crossed for a pre-EDD labour, would hate to get to bang on 40 weeks or worse...overdue! :D
