Right i'm stupid. I didn't know until today that I'm supposed to brush Blake's teeth. Pretty darn common sense really I suppose but I just had no idea. Feel quite bad because he's had teeth for two weeks now.

What does everyone use for their babies toothbrush/toothpaste wise and do you do it morning and night? Blake normally falls asleep on the boob at night am I gonna have to wake him to brush his peggies?

Why dont they give you an instruction book when you have a baby?!

I didn't do Odhráns until they were well and truly up, he hated having them done when they were still sprouting. I got a colgate baby toothbrush that was from 0+, and milk teeth toothpaste, Odhrán prefers to suck the toothbrush but we're slowly getting there.. By getting there I mean he lets me do it after he has stuck his toothbrush in my gob, gagged me a few times, laughs and then it's his turn  also giving Buzz Lightyear and Handy Manny their daily brush too, not sure about brushing after last feed.. Suppose you're dealing with will it wake him? It's something new and exciting for them, Odhrán didn't get a tooth until he was 1 and it didn't come up for about 2-3 weeks so at this stage bedtime brushing wasn't really an issue x

wss^^ you could do them in the morning when he is awake and say just before his last feed he wont like it at 1st, dont worry about not already starting its not like he eats or drinks sugery stuff :) when we struggle to do tristans we normally say come here and let me tickle your teeth lol

I do them after his breakfast and before his last feed, I use milk teeth toothpaste (think it's aquafresh, not sure though) and a baby toothbrush I got from the supermarket. I can't imaging 2 weeks without brushing would make any difference xxx

We had a dentist come into baby group and she said that while they are still coming through you can just use your finger to clean them rather than a brush as their gums are obviously very sensitive. The main thing is to get milk residue off but apparently it's not that big a deal until they start weaning and have other stuff in their mouths :)

I didn't bother till they were up loads for liv but she has them done everynight whilst she's in the bath now. You kid of have to wrestle her to do it but we get there in the end! Don't worry about it too much Hun x

I've only just started brushing Islas teeth. She loves it! My dentist said to give them a good scrub when I can and to bring her brush with me for checkups.

I'm using a colgate brush which has a hole in the handle and milk teeth paste which I got free in a bounty pack.

Love the tickle your teeth idea, think I'll be using that one in the future

Thanks for all the replies, I bought a toothbrush and a finger brush. He loves both but I'm favouring the finger brush because it gives me more control.

I got a three stage baby toothbrush set, they have a disc that clips on so they cant gag themselves, the first two are kinda of silicone rubber textured things, and then a proper little brush, she has the rubber thing during the day to chew on n play with, and then i brush her teeth after her bath each night, but she gets a bottle after that anway >.< cant be too bad though she only has two! lol
