I'd recommend that you get a few trial samples of different types of cloth nappy first as different styles will suit different babies depending on their shape. In some birth to potty packs the nappies are quite big to accomodate your little one once its a toddler, this can mean that the nappies look big and bulky on a newborn which I think puts people of using cloth when its ace!
Some councils have cloth nappy trial packs so you could check with them or alternatively contact a cloth nappy advisor in your area (midwife/ health visitor should have details or google it) and talk through what you want with them, they should also have trial packs so you don't fork out loads of money and find you've got the wrong ones for you.
