just wondering what age your children sat by themselves at and what help can i give corey

Aimee was around 7 and a half months when she started sitting up on her own, maybe even a bit later.

i know coey was 6 weeks prem but does that count anymore? was with health visitor today and she told me to get rid of walker as thats why he isnt doing it and to get him on his belly as much as i can, i swear im so pants, she also told me to start feeding corey with fresh food now as he is putting on a bit of weight and where she thinks im going to get the time to make it can u girls give me any tips, ud think id catch on to this mothering NOW

Tell you health visitor to go and jump off. :wall:
A paediatition told me a walker is fine aslong as they aren't in it for too long at a time.
Damien learnt to do sit up at about 7.5 months, but he has not speach skills really. He is a wriggler and mover, not a talker. He can say mumma but that's it, no other sounds at all!! By this age apparently he should be saying dada and recongnising mama as me. I can tell you he isn't (although I like to think he is sometimes)

We have to correct our preemies ages till they are 2 I think, by then all kids are pretty much the same.
If you don't have time to cook meals (I don't!) then you can feed him jars hun. I give Damien the Hipp organic ones, and they smell good enough to eat myself! No rubbish in them.

You are not a bad mummy, you're doing great. Don't let a nagging HV make you feel you're doing everything wrong.

ditto sami.

all through life people do things at different rates. the guidelines they give you are just that, guidelines. they do it when they are ready.
with the food try and give him a bit of what you eat, like a roast or any veg. thats what we do, not because its better but because its cheaper and liam likes to eat the sam as us.

youre doing a great job hun

Hi

Kiara was 6 months old, but remember every baby is different hun and im sure hes fine he will do it when he is ready... i hate when nurses/doctors tell you stuff that is crap you are doing fine if you feel your okay then dont change anything
Katrina

kieran was 4 months. joshua was 6 months and so was liam. but liam has crawled at 7 months. joshua was 8 months and kieran was 8 months.

hannah was 4 weeks prem and they took that into consideration at all her assessments even her year one so don't worry hun being prem can make a difference

so is liam classes as prem as i had him by c section at 38 weeks + 4 (i think)

thanks girls that has really helped me, i was starting to worry but today he has started to sit a bit on his own hurray and when he starts crying a bit he is saying ba ba well a mumbled ba ba but he its something yipppeeeeeeee.

so im soooo relieved and i must def try the jars so thanks sami, i always used the packets so i def must try the jars.

but thanks everyone again

a preemie is a baby born before 37 weeks hun :)

I used to give Damien the packets, but at 7motnhs, they start to run out of variety! And start to work out more expensive when you have a ganit baby  One packet will only make 2-2.5 meals by the time they are 9 months I think. The jars have a lovely big variety, and everynow and again I'll buy an organic range by another make instead of organic so not to make things to repetative. God knows what I give him though, I grab one out the cupboard without looking, he's probably had cottage pie for lunch and dinner before

Don't you worry about all these charts andf books which say they should be doing this that or the other, prems have their own rule book which is 'they will do it when they are ready' and not to worry, and the same applies for full termers too. I know it's easier said than done and I still worry sometimes, but try not to x
