Apologies, this might be long!

40+6 midwife appointment at midwife wasnt happy with babies movements so sent me to hospital. Ctg scan showed no acceleration or deceleration which means baby was either deep asleep or something was wrong. They said they would just induce me. I had a horrific induction last time so wanted a natural labour so said no to them unless they say there is something wrong with baby.
So got sent for a scan. Whilst waiting I had a sticky bum and large coffee. Baby woke up right on queue and scan was fine.

Back on ward and they still said they wanted to bring my induction forward a few days which I agreed to along with additional monitoring.
I then got a sweep(about 3pm) and scored 7 on bishops scale. Cervix 2cm dilated, soft, 1cm long and mid position.
Told to go home, hydrate myself well, climb some stairs and bounce on my ball. Which I did.

After climbing up and down stairs for 10mins went to low and had my bloody show. No pain though.
Watched OBEM whilst bouncing vigorously on my ball. Then moved to sofa to update my journal on here and whoosh!!! Waters burst. What a shock!!! It was a tsunami.
I jamp in shower whilst hubby got carpet cleaner out. Called hospital and had to go in and get checked.

10.10pm - waters gone
11pm - ctg scan ok, mild contractions. Sent home to chill for a bit.
0000 - tens machine on, contractions a bit nippy
0100- contractions 4-5 mins apart, not too bad
0200- contractions suddenly 2mins apart and quite painful, call hospital who check I have someone with me as baby apparently imminent and tell me to come in straight away.
0300- arrive at hospital, straight to labour suite. Contractiond 1-2mins apart, lasting around a minute and quite painful. Get checked and all surprised I am 5cm.
0400- gas and air shit and they wouldnt let me get in the pool as high risk pregnancy so ask for epidural
0500 - 7cm and epidural put in... oh my freaking god. It was like being wrapped in a cosy fleece blanket. I was blissed out and pain free but still mobile?
0700 - 8cm. Epidural has slowed things right down so I have a wee snooze whilst they attach me to the drip.
1100- midwife has a "look" and tells me to have a wee push so she can see where baby was as she thought I might be close. Baby near popped out! Haha
Told me to stop as they were not ready.
Let me start pushing again as I could feel a little pressure and did 3 big pushes per contraction. 5 contractions and she was out!
1140 - Cora Elise Macdonald Farrelly born and she is a biggun!
Placenta came out by itself (apparently I am one of the best pusherd they have seen) but cord had to be cut straight away but I cant remember why now.

Was all very serene and beautiful, as was Cora who weighed 8lb 14oz and 58cm long!! Was a student that did the measurements so we were all sure she had got it wrong but nope!
So much for growth scans saying she was bang on 50th centile so around 7lb 10oz
2nd degree tear and a few stitches

If both of my labours were as lovely as that one I would be doing it again! X

Congratulations Hun.

Midwife been and she has only lost 25g from her birth weight and has confirmed 58cm! My husband is 6', one of his sisters is 5'11 (the other is same as me, 5'5) and his Mum is 5'10 so think she is going to be a tall one. He has just told me he has Uncles that are 6'6, 6'5 and 6'3! Whoa.

X
