Been thinking about giving CoQ10 a go for a while now but kept putting it off as it's a bit on the expensive side!! Would be great to hear from anyone who's tried it. I keep reading different things but it seems that it can benefit both of us? Also what dose as there seems to be a few?

You might have seen my post before but I feel 99% sure it helps with egg quality based on both my ivf attempts.
I was taking 150mg but this cycle I've up'd it to 200mg.

Fertility acupuncturist seemed to think it was a good thing to take, before I visited her I took A LOT of different vitamins and they were one of they few she said to keep going with.

They are expensive yes, sadly :(
I usually get them from holland and Barrett in the penny sale.

I think quite a few ladies on the long term boards have used them too if you don't get many more answers here xx

Thanks Millie. I'm sort of reviewing our vitamins as we're taking a lot. We take the Pregnacare his and hers but thinking of swapping to Tesco own brand as they're about half the price. Trying to justify the price of CoQ10!!

Does your OH take it as well? I've heard it can be good for sperm function and OH has had problems with motility.

We're both also taking vitamin c, zinc and omega 3. may chat to my acupuncturist actually. Never thought of that and seeing her Monday.

I take the Tesco pre concept ones, much cheaper! I don't think there's a lot of difference in what's in them compared with pregnacare.

Hubby doesn't take them nope, so I'm not sure what they do on the men's side.

Vit c and zinc are usually in whichever pre-concept you take, I got told off for taking extras of those lol!
It's worth chatting with her about it, do you see one that is specialised in fertility?

Yeah I was comparing them online and the didn't look much different. Definitely think I'll change over to them when we run out.

I do see a fertility acupuncturist so will definitely ask her on Monday. It's so hard as you read so much conflicting advice!! I knew both were in the multivitamin but I read somewhere else that you should take more. So confusing!!

I think they're usually on a 3 for 2 offer as well. I think I'm almost out but hubby has only just started his first sheet of the second box, he forgets to take them a lot.. ughhh men.

Yeah I had read the same, that and extra vitamin D but the values in them already have way more than you need.

I have to say my OH is actually pretty good at taking stuff. I realise I'm lucky though. I think the poor sperm test kinda encouraged him to do something.

I read evening primrose oil was good for CM but I didn't notice a difference so stopped taking that. I read that you can overdose on vitamin D but you just pee out extra vitamin c. Not sure if that's true though.

If I end up ditching a lot of them I can probably justify the cost of CoQ10. I think in our case I'd probably have both of us try it.

I feel like I constantly have to remind him! I guess it doesn't matter as his SA was all fine but still it's annoying!

Yes EPO did nothing for me! Total waste gave up with that!

I think it would be worth a go xx

So I had a chat with my acupuncturist and she was more of the view that now we've 'fixed' all the problems that we can and changed our diet etc how many supplements do we really need? So I think we'll probably carry on with a conception vitamin and the omega 3 (don't eat lots of fish but doing better) and ditch the rest. I may still give the CoQ10 a go though as I don't think that's something we can get from diet?

Did she tell you off for taking too many? Lol

Apparently coq10 can be found in liver, kidney, and heart, beef, sardines, mackerel, spinach, broccoli, and cauliflower
From a quick google. Never knew that :)

Wouldn't say she told me off lol but as we've actually had several issues that the docs have been able to fix she was sort of saying do you really need them. That's interesting that you can get CoQ10 from diet. I didn't know that either.

Thanks for this thread hehe been an interesting read and I learnt something new to try in the future heheh xx

Hopefully next cycle will be the one for you now! xx

I'm trying to be positive. There's now no obvious medical reason why we shouldn't fall pregnant naturally. All we can do is try. In a way I sort of feel like this month is the first cycle that will really count. After I saw how much space the polyp was taking up, I'm not surprised we've never got pregnant!!
