contractions?? Are these them, or not? please read..

i'm really unsure, i've got dull period pains and bk ache...

and been hospital and monitored for few reasons over last week.. they machine picked up i've had "irregular tightenings"

since just after 1 pm, i've felt wierd pains..

it starts in my tummy, then goes to my bk and under my ribs, it only lasts around 20seconds..

first was at 1.07pm.. then 1.13pm then 1.18pm then 1.27 pm and 1.35pm... they hurt but i could still move around when its happening,

tried changing posistions and lying on left side, and it still happens..

i've not really had braxton hicks, and havent a clue how contractions should feel..

any ideas girlies xx

It might be the start of something...its hard to say. When you start to get more intense contractions there will be no doubt in your mind as its a sensation that you will have never felt before!

Personally the whole 'its like a bad period pain' comparision does not wash with me, in my opinion it felt nothing like any period I've ever had!

Agree with this! I had periody type pains for a good couple of weeks before my waters broke and even when I was having small contractions they weren't like anything I'd ever experienced before in my life! It is different for everyone, though.

They don't sounds like BH, whatever they are! BH are painless tightenings..

I was getting back pains the day before but didn't know it was labour and just thought I had pulled a muscle. My mum said to me it would be an unfamiliar pain in the beginning. I didn't have anything like period a pain during my labour.

i'm aching alot, but i dont think its pacific to back pain, its everywhere lol.. beginning of weeki had definate different pains, but its all worn off..

hope it comes bk hehe, i'm gettin so impatient and i'm only just term xx

going off those times u put which are irregular, i think they might be effacing pains. i had those and thought they were contractions as they had "peaks" to them. when the real ones start they will be VERY regular like bang on 5 minutes or 3 minutes or 2 or whatever, there will be no longer intervals in between. and they will feel the same but much more intense
