My little one is constipated, hes never been like this before as hes bf and always gone every day. im guessing that its because of weaning and his tummy is not used to the food

what can i do for it? already tried cycling motion with legs and warm bath,he wont take water at all.

Make sure you are giving him plenty of fluid (as you do while breastfeeding I suppose). Does he take bottle as well? You could try to express milk, mix it with a couple of tee-spoons of malt extract. This is suppose to get the system going! Or try to give him some prune juice??

Good luck! Hope it works out!!!

xx

My lo had this problem just the other day - like you it was new to us as my lo was breastfed, but we've moved over to formula and started weaning all at once, so the nappies have certainly changed!

We sorted it by giving some prunes. The easiest way I've found to do this is to give the activia with prunes yogurt. I put the prune part throuth a mouli to get rid of any lumps (you could use a sieve) and then mixed it with the yogurt. About 1/3 of a pot did the trick for us! X

Have you tried a few spoons of weetabix in the morning?

Also as said above any fruit with the skin on like dates/ raisins will help you can always purée them and mix them with other things. I don't think there's any need to give water if breastfeeding

Mango puree works for Albert. I find bananas make him a bit constipated so I mix it with mango and he has no problems now xxxxxxx

Raisins work a treat if Jack's having trouble. Or as others have suggested, try prunes x

Thanks ladies. gave him 2extra bf's yesterday to try and get some extra fluids in him and we had 2poos this morning so seems a bit better. funny you say that about banana as he did have that the other day. if prob continues will try prunes and mango. he loves mango anyway.

Nurse was going to say give him extra feeds.

Harry got a bit dehydrated one day of the holiday and was straining and crying away so I just made sure I gave him extra feeds (like no more than 2 hours apart) a d he was fine.

Obv that was due to the heat but I just mean the extra liquid just helps xx

i always gave alyssa a cup of water/weak juice with her meals to try and avoid that lol. she likes her cups
