Constipation!!

Tyler is 7 weeks old and suffering with constipation! He only goes every couple days but is always trying to go. Doctor has subscribed lactulose but it's not helping.... Anyone else's lo have this prob? I hate seeing Tyler in pain!

Yeah kayla suffers mainly because of the gaviscon. How much are you giving him ? We were told 1 spoon twice a day but i try just give her water before bottle instead and sometimes just make her bottle up with a extra 10ml of water but this only works if they drinking the full bottle as will be getting a diluted feed if they dont finish it all.

Do you ff or bf?

I find too many ready made cartons make her worse too

I ff Tyler. Iv tried the boiled water too but doesn't help! I give him two 2.5mls a day! I did water down his feeds slightly but hv told me off! I feel so helpless! Xx

Yeah mine said only water if she will drink the full feed cos its the same as giving water first then normal feed.
I was giving 5ml when she was bad and 2.5 when she starving to get extra solid ones

Harlow is ALWAYS constipated due to the soya formula she is on. The only thing that helps is giving her 2oz of cool boiled water with 2 teaspoons of tropicana. X

When my lo was constipated I gave her 20mls of warm water before each feed, from boiled obviously and it worked x

I've heard that a couple of oz of water with a sprinkling of sugar helps. Xxx
