my boy used to have about 3 poos a day but since this colic started hes hardly done anything at all. he hasnt had a poo since thursday evening. before that i was getting worried cos he hadnt done one since the early hours of thursday morning.

is this normal? i know some babies dont go very often but its the sudden change thats worrying me more ...

It can be totally normal - you could try massaging his tummy with some oil, it might get things moving. Failing that, lay him down naked on your favourite most expensive thing to wear..you can guarantee it will take about ten seconds

are you breast feeding? I've been having problems with Cahal / colic / poo since day 1 and have breast fed the whole time. He gets terrible wind (really smelly farts) and after doing his meconium poo in hospital, took 4 days to go again, and now only goes roughly every 3 days. I can see it hurts him and it breaks my heart, but my midwife, health visitor and GP have all said it's completely normal for breast fed babies to have long stints between poos - even up to a week. This doesn't help me when he's screaming at 4am having still not gone to sleep though, they just keep saying it will get better...I hope they're right!

Oh, the other thing they told me that even if it's days between poos, if its loose and runny then he's not constipated, it's just that the milk is getting digested well enough not to produce enough waste to warrant a poo. Or something....

 sounds like a plan!!!!! hows your LO doing? x

annabelle had this on breastmilk too, it def passes but i know how horrible it is to watch, bless them x

oooh thats good news! My LO has been producing the most incredibe smelling farts too

oooh forgot to say, cooled bioled water twice a day helps.about 25-50ml each time xx

Colic has crept in here - I started the Infacol which helps no end buy on nights like tonight there is no relief except to give him a dummy which does relieve and comfort him enough to let him go to sleep. Just when you think there is no more wind in there up comes another big burp, its just so unfair! I can't wait until he is old enough for some Gripe Water - that stuff is magic xx

ah we started the infacol on friday and i think its awesome!! :yay: morgan wont take a dummy, just looks at me disgusted that i'd put such a thing in his mouth when hes already upset!!

we have the gripewater ready and waiting for the day he is 1 month old. why couldnt he be born in a shorter month?!

i have found infacol to be much better than gripe water?

she loves a dummy but i did laugh at that comment about them looking disgusted when you put it in their mouth as she does that too sometimes. she forgets she likes it haha x
